  1. Duffey also faced a AAA lineup and got lit up.
  2. It makes too much sense to platoon Arcia with Park. So I expect the Twins to do something other than that.
  3. If Pohlad was serious about winning he would be willing to spend more. He doesn't care though. He is one of the richer owners in baseball and the Twins have been making pretty good profits the last 5 years: 2014: $21.3 million- Highest profit of 4 major sports teams in MN 2013: $30.2 million- #6 in baseball 2012: $10.8 million 2011: $16.8 million- #15 in baseball 2010: $26.5 million Even though the Twins were terrible from 2011-2014 Pohlad still made a nice profit. Also, the Forbes valuation of the Twins, prior to the start of 2011 season, was $490 million. Prior the start of last season the Twins were valued at $895 million and I would bet that valuation will top $1 billion in the next year or two. Jim Pohlad is laughing all the way to the bank, while we sit here watching a mediocre product that he refuses to go out and try to improve.
  4. The smart thing to do would be to platoon Arcia and Park at DH to start the season. Put them both in a position to succeed and build confidence.
  5. 18 of Dozier's 28 homeruns last year were solo shots. He needs to hit 4-6 to take advantage of his greatest asset. I do something like this: Against RHP: Buxton Mauer Sano Arcia Dozier Rosario Plouffe Escobar Murphy/Suzuki Against LHP Buxton Mauer Sano Dozier Park Plouffe Escobar Rosario Murphy/Suzuki
  6. Plouffe is slow. I'd bet 1k without hesitation that Sano would beat Plouffe in a footrace, even an 260 bills.
  7. The first three hitters in your proposed lineup: Danny Santana: Career .309 OBP/2014 was a fluke Eduardo Escobar: Career .303 OBP/Love me some Eduardo, just not hitting 2nd Eddie Rosario: Career .289 OBP/One of the lowest walk rates in MLB Having your 1-3 hitters consist of players that struggle to get on base consistently, is not a recipe for success.
  8. I don't even want Bedrosian at all. He sucks.
  9. If we trade Plouffe, it had better not be for Bedrosian as a centerpiece. That would be god awful.
  10. Nunez has 2 homers in 5 career AB's against Santiago. Probably should find a way to get his bat in the lineup tonight even if it's a small sample size. Maybe a lineup of: RF Hicks 2B Dozier 1B Mauer DH Sano 3B Plouffe LF Escobar SS Nunez C Suzuki CF Buxton
  11. Interesting Lineup Tonight Dozier Mauer Plouffe Sano Hunter Rosario Escobar Suzuki Buxton
  12. With the disappointing seasons our college power arms (Burdi, Reed, Jones) are having, it is nice to see Chargois having success after his two year layoff. I highly doubt the Twins call him up though due to that reason.
