  1. Agreed...not sure the NY fans would agree as they seem to expect every close pitch to go their way. Made me laugh though.
  2. I'm really curious where Grossman fits in the scheme of things. Granite has to be better defensively than Grossman and I would think that there are better bats around than Grossman (maybe not). It seems that we are kind of trying to put a square peg in a round hole because he's not good in the outfield and doesn't have the kind of pop you would want in a DH. He did not look good last night at the plate.
  3. I think the Twins success this year had to do with Falvey and Levine, but not the way that some might think. That was a determined, pissed off, group of guys in that clubhouse....and rightfully so. It was us against them and Molitor was part of us. It didn't take statistics to look at our August schedule and see that it was a cupcake schedule. We all saw it! Why didn't they? Going forward, if they don't rehire Molly and bring in "one of their guys", that guy has already lost the clubhouse just by being "one of their guys". The Twins were determined to prove management wrong and they did. Now management can either acknowledge that or reject it by replacing Molly. Look, Molitor might not be the perfect manager, but if Falvey and Levine are as smart as people seem to think they are, they'll give him another year. If they don't, we won't see the postseason next year.
  4. May have felt bad for Sanchez, but it felt great for me.
  5. Better stay away from the East coast SPorts Network tomorrow.
  6. This is the inning of the year right here. shut them down and restore order.
  7. This is what I've dreamed of. More please.
  8. Well, boys and girls, I need a distraction from life after the last 24 hours. I won't get into details, but it suffices to say that this game (win or lose) could not come at a better time for me. I know that deep in the bowels of MLB, they would love to see the Yankees advance. I would remind those bowels that they still owe us for Mauer's fair ball. Go Twins!
  9. I! I believe! I believe that! I believe that we! I believe that we will! I believe that we will win! I believe that we will win! I believe that we will win!
  10. It's not a miracle, but we will defy the odds and win.
  11. I don't have a strategy...just win baby! Both squads have young players that haven't had any postseason experience, but here's the difference - the Twins are playing with house money. There is no pressure on us. Byron Buxton can relax and do what Byron Buxton does. Rosario? I think he'll eat this up. Kepler, Polanco, Sano?, Adrianza, etc...this is their chance to drink it in and enjoy it. In Erv we trust. Aaron Judge...New York is looking to him to bring them to the promised land. Will he get caught up in it and try to hit a 5 run homer with every swing? Severino, Gregorius, Hicks, etc...if you think that they won't be nervous, think again. We don't need to Twins to come out of the gate fast (although it would be nice). We just need the Yankees to not come out of the gate fast. The longer this game stays 0-0, the better for the Twins and the more the pressure mounts on the Yankees. I'll take a 5th inning 3 spot and another tacked on in the 6th for the Twins...and then the pressure really starts to mount on the Yankees. Not a strategy, but it's how I want it to play out.
  12. I guess the bigger question is if you consider the wild card play in game "making the postseason"? Some say that the winner of that game makes the playoffs. My approach is that we have unfinished business. If we can exercise that demon, then pop the bubbly.
  13. Because we ain't done. I hear all the "experts" saying that the Twins won't beat the Yankees in NY...and they might be right...or not. I think it is ridiculous for them to write off the Twins after they just lost 2-1 in a game in NY where Erv pitched. That's a couple of bloops and a bleeder from being 3-2 the other way. Do I think the Yanks are better? Yep. Do I think it's baseball and weird stuff happens? Yep!
  14. But what about the days when you get to work at 8 AM and realize that the entire day isn't going to be productive?....Mondays for example.
  15. And the Twins are now 4.5 ahead of Texas (lost 1-0 to A's), Angels, and the Royals. Seven to go. We will be playing the Yankees, and we will be able to set up our rotation to pitch Erv. I just want to knock off the Yankees one time in there house. Damn Yankees...why I'd sell my soul to the...oh wait, somebody already wrote that script.
  16. I would argue that we already know that. Throws hard with no movement and gets hit just as hard. Unless you can throw 100+, you aren't blowing it by a MLB hitter. Unless he realizes that and learns how to pitch instead of how to throw, he's not going to succeed in the majors.
