  1. I agree with you. Bottom line is that the Yankees are better than their record. I'm not sure the same can be said about us...and it gives me great pain to admit that about the Yankees. They are set up to make it a six inning game. If you don't get to their starter, their odds of winning go way up due to their bullpen. Compare that to our bullpen (we hold our breath). If we don't get swept, it's a win.
  2. Pet wolverine...lol! Talk about biting the hand that feeds you...they would eat the hand that feeds them. Well, here we go. The make or break road trip that has been looming on the horizon. Go get 'em boys!
  3. One of the things that I've noticed this year about Rosario is that, while he certainly can tee off on the ball and sent it over the fence, there are times that he just flicks the bat and dumps one into the outfield. I think Polanco has that same ability to adjust their swing to the game circumstances. Same with Esco, and to some extent, Buxton.
  4. I see that 10 game road trip as the key to the season. That's not an easy road trip. I'd love to see Cleveland stumble, but they look pretty tough right now. The Yankees certainly have incentive to play well. Detroit's only incentive is to play spoiler. Hopefully, the Twins stay loose and don't put too much pressure on themselves.
  5. Very familiar with Hills, MN. Know the mayor personally. A fine small town.
  6. Hey! We are on the plus side of run differential! +6! I don't remember being on the plus side this year.
  7. Yeah, he kinda got bailed out by a great play from Granite that was about an inch from going over the wall. I'm not convinced that Perk will ever truly make his way back.
  8. Looking ahead to the weekend, we obviously have 3 more at the Royals, but here is a look at the rest of the pack. I think we could see a few fall from the pack this weekend. Los Angeles is at Seattle Baltimore is at the red hot Cleveland Tampa is at Boston Texas hosts the Yankees I'd expect to see Texas and Baltimore fall back a bit, but it's baseball and weird things happen. Here's hoping that our Twins can keep swimming.
  9. Ooh! That downward plain...I'll bet Bert likes Fargo.
  10. As an owner of chickens, I'm finding this whole chicken dinner thing kind of offensive. It brings out the inner snowflake in me and I suddenly feel the need to protest in the streets, post something on Twitter, and start a GoFundMe page while respecting the right for free speech....unless it offends me.
  11. Well, there's no doubt in my mind that MLB wants the ball leaving the park. So, if the baseballs are juiced, it's great for the fans and the hitters, but where does that leave the pitchers when it comes to HOF voting?
  12. Interesting article a while back in USA Today. Pitchers are convinced that something isn't right with the baseball this year. They think it is "juiced". https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2017/06/29/mlb-juiced-ball-home-runs/440203001/ The last time I heard this kind of talk was right before the ugly truth came out. I don't know if it is the baseball, the speed that guys are throwing, the mechanics of the swings, the talent of the players, the all or nothing approach at the plate, or....another ugly truth lurking out there, but MLB hitters are on pace to break the home run record by nearly 500 dingers. That's 500 more than when MLB was in the middle of that ugly truth era.
  13. Yup. Got it. Came in with a 1 run lead and left after pitching a full inning without holding that lead. Didn't take the loss but helped it along....and I still would like 4-5 more wins.
  14. I think Koufax also threw a perfect game...just some icing on his cake.
  15. Oh, that's true because it was tied in the 9th. I'd still like 4 more wins though!
  16. I think that's 5 blown saves since we traded away our all-star closer. I know that he didn't and still doesn't have the stuff that blows people away, but he had the attitude of a closer and made them hit his pitch. I hated that trade because I thought the August schedule was weak. Every save that we blow, I hate the trade even more. 4-5 more wins would sure look good right now.
  17. First question should be if you are at the game or at home? If home, cut the wife off after 1 drink. No sense paying for a divorce.
  18. Did I just see why Vargas isn't on the club unless absolutely necessary? Did he just jog out a double play with a man on 3rd?
  19. But I like Eggburgers as well...heart attack on a bun.
  20. You can get them at a number of restaurants. I think Potbelly has them.
  21. I have chickens...I also have lots and lots of eggs. Omelette anyone? You say you're more of a burger and fries kind of guy?...make it an egg burger! Last night, we had BELT's for supper!
  22. Ugh...got back from vacation, turned on the Twins, watched a Buxton highlight...and then got BosheeeeeereD. When you're a loogy, ya better get the the lefties out or at least make them swing the bat. Why Molly left him in there is beyond me.
  23. Define clothes. Like pants? No.
