    Outside of one really bad game, we've really battled Cleveland tough this year...so we've got that goin' for us...which is nice.

    I'm a little more worried about innings for both Gonsalves and Romero, so I'm thinking they might not get the call. Wade...yeah, he's hanging around out there.

    I'd like to see some predictions for September call ups. I see we are giving Johnny Field a look now. Jake Cave for a while now. Who else gets a look in September? Tyler Austin? Pineda...I hope.

    Great article and I do like the "prospects" that we got back. I'm not wild about getting guys that are 30+ years old and plugging them in to the MLB lineup. If we have (and we have) given up on the season, then doesn't it make more sense to see what some of the younger guys can do? I'm hoping to see some of them in September. Perhaps there are service time considerations, but I'm not sure we are in a position where that should be a priority. The three players listed represent what one can do if given the opportunity. How many guys in our minor league system just need that opportunity?

    Pretty predictable ending. For the life of me, I don't know why we had Hildy pitch to Lindor. Lindor hit a Hildy change up a mile the previous night so this time he was waiting on a changeup again and got it. I think the issue with Hildy is that he really only has 2 pitches so batters either sit on the fastball or, as Cleveland has been doing, on the the changeup. He throws from a variety of angles, but for a 77 mph changeup, it really doesn't matter what the arm angle is as the players have time to pick it up. I like coming over the top occasionally with the fastball, but not the changeup. I turned the channel before the Lindor home run even landed.

    I think I saw last night that Morrison had lost 22 hits to the shift. If you tacked on 22 hits to his 59, he'd have a BA of .264. So, bottom line is that he has had some bad luck, but, more importantly, he's going to have to learn to adapt. Whether you like the shift or not, it's here until MLB tells us it is not.

    Overthinking...yeah, I think that's the perfect word for what the FO has done.

    What isn't mentioned in the article is that this is the second year in a row that we sold off at the deadline. Last year they underestimated the team. Did they do the same this year? I don't think we will get a chance to find out with what is left. BTW, we batted two guys that are below the Mendoza line in last night's lineup. When it's August and you have 2 guys batting below .200 in your lineup, you aren't winning many games.

    FWIW, Garver got squeezed out of a K against Lindor. His numbers should actually be better!

    I like the write up, but I'd give the Dozier trade a lower grade...like a D- or an F...I hated taking Forsythe back. I'd rather see Adrianza...or a prospect...or a fan chose randomly from the stands than a guy that we have no interest in seeing in this year or next year.

    I would not play Rosario at 2B mainly because he has shown an arm in LF. He has range and a gun, let him shoot.

    Sure he will...just for another team.

    While we've got a lot of payroll to play with, we don't want to overpay...and therein lies the problem. Winners want to win. In order to coax quality free agents to come to Minnesota and play, we have to overpay for them. We don't want to do that, and they would prefer to play for a winner. So, we end up sifting thru the scrap heap for the diamond in the rough.

    Lot's of speculation...what I know is that Dozier had a great debut last night in Dodger blue and that makes me happy.
