  1. Luis Arreze I believe has made Lewis available. For all we know Lewis may not pan out, he's not exactly living up to a number 1 overall pick, Arreze is.
  2. There is a comparison to look at. The Indians had a pitcher by the name of Zach McAllister who was a starter threw hard but had problems so they turned into a reliever but also had problems very similar to may eventually they cut him loose.
  3. There is no doubt Gonzalez needs to be the 3rd baseman and Arreze the second baseman. They battle and find a way to get it done. Sano's occasional home run dosent make up for his defense or lack of RBI'S production. The same for Scoop although not quite as deficienthe as Sano.
  4. What was the price they paid for their new players would be interesting to know. Who were they and how highly regarded/ranked were they? Maybe that would give us Falvey and Levine s risk reward tolerance to project what they would be willing to give up.
  5. It seems to me that when a team has signed one of these types of players, i.e. halfway through the season, it turns out to be a lost year for them. You don't get the player from the year before. Better to get someone that has been playing via trade.
  6. Arraez looks like Kirby did when he made his debut out there. Unbelievable
  7. Sano is fools gold, we did better with Escobar and we will do better with Gonzalez
  8. Sign Kimbro for one year, trade Sano and Gordon for Madbum. Go for it.
  9. Escobar is only a utility player, that was a said over and over again yet he kept producing. Astudillo just keeps producing so... quit looking for reasons why he shouldn't be a major league and let the results speak for themselves.
  10. I get so tired of hearing about this extra year of control of Buxton, we have a brand new stadium which was going to allow us to pay to have good players for Pete's sake. if he's having a good year when it becomes time Pay him.
  11. Why has Gibson not throwing any more the high fastball like what orderize does he was doing this early on and it was very effective now he's trying to nibble low again
  12. 36 year old pitchers don't regain their velocity.
  13. Am I wrong but other than Mauer who have we kept from being a free agent with this new stadium and the promise of being competitive?
  14. There was one other player that wanted out of the Twins clubhouse, remember, Cuduyer.
  15. From the Arizona Republic: Of the three prospects the Diamondbacks gave up in the Escobar deal, right-hander Johan Duran is regarded as having the highest ceiling and was, perhaps, the hardest to part with, at least by judging general manager Mike Hazen's comments "we like him a lot, " Hazen said "he's a power arm, right-handed pitcher and he's got a ton of upside. He's got huge velocity and we like him as a future starter. We're sad to see him go." Duran has a fastball that touches the upper 90s along with the power curve. Scout say Duran made strides this year in his command but still has a ways to go in that department. He also needs to continue to develop his changeup, they say, in order to remain a starting pitcher. Nothing was said about the other two prospects.
  16. food for thought- with all the shifts due to analytics would the the Twins record be any different without them? From the Twins defensive standpoint. Do you think Joe has adjusted right before our eyes his swing? Could he be beating the outfield shift with his swing geared more to up the middle?
  17. last year Rowson fought for Buxton not to be sent down when he was struggling. he really believed in him and it payed off. How could he not do the same this year with both Sano and Buxton. why have him as a hitting coach then. something is wrong somewhere with this staff, front office.
  18. since Sano and Buxton were sent out they have played 20 games and are 6-14. The previous 20 games they were 9-11. Twins weren't great with them but they are terrible without them. Front office bailed on this team by sending them both out. they did it last year with Kinsler and got away with it but not this year. I believe this front office has a mess on their hands that they created. it looks like not only have they lost the fans but the clubhouse.
  19. jose better be careful on his change up. he speeds his windup on delivery.
  20. I don't care what he looks like the guy can play baseball!
  21. trading Escobar would be the same mistake they made when they let Cuduyer walk. That leadership void was not recovered until they signed Tori Hunter again you lose Escobar and what little you have in that Clubhouse is gone.
  22. Adrianza was going for porcello on that first pitch.
  23. Who is the extra infielder if Eskobar can't go?
  24. I believe the scouting reports on Buxton coming into the draft questioned his hitting potential. We now see why some had reservations about him. Can hit minor league pitching but not major league pitching. Those pitchers are there for a reason, we certainly have seen our share of pitchers who were successful in the minors who didn't make it. Buxtons defense is clouding our view of his hitting ability. What if Grossman showed at the plate what Buxton has with the Twins. Very few guys can play at this level if they can't hit. They have to be exceptional on defense which Buxton is.
