  1. It's not so much that your eyes watch the point of contact but your body follows your eyes in any sport. If the eyes come up the body comes up thus pulling off the swing.
  2. This site has provided me a connection to my favorite team that I grew up after retiring to Phoenix. A thousand thanks would not be enough!! There are so many well thought out, insightful articles that it is the gold star of info on the Twins. Thanks guys!
  3. Why not move Dozier to first base and Polanco to second. Gives us a power hitting first baseman. Let Mauer DH.
  4. Drafting Jay as high as we did and then trying to turn him into a starter is puzzling. Are we surprised that he can't handle the load?
  5. Shelby Miller Is the Diamondbacks Vance Worley.
  6. Is May not Pelfry 2.0
  7. Then Ty Cobb should be it.
  8. I for one would not have attached a name to an award but if I did is Ted Williams not the one who should be on there?
  9. The countdown is on, once the Vikings start practice the Twins will be begging for attention.
  10. if we are trusting Jim pohlad to fire Terry Ryan and make changes what makes us think that he is a sharp baseball person. if he was sharp, how did this get to be the way it was right now?
  11. Buxton looks no different now then when I saw him in the AFL. He struggled there also. Kepler looks the same now as he did in the AFL and he is having some success. Their swings are so different that Buxton's swing is going to be an Achilles heel.
  12. Our vaunted farm system could not produce an outfielder a catcher or pitching. The atmosphere in the dugout is just listless during the games from the shots on TV they show. This regime reminds me of the white house insulation that our presidents are wrapped with. Surrounded by people that are career a.. kissers that won't rock the boat. So on and on it goes. My rant for today, sorry.
  13. Duffy used to throw different curveballs as his main pitch. Why is he relying so much on his fastball this year. I don't get it. ????
  14. I think Jack Morris as a pitching coach and Roy Smaller as hitting coach are far superior to what we have now!!#
  15. Gardy did not want to take his new position with Twins. Ryan really wanted it not Gardy.
  16. Suzuki drives me crazy with his love of the fastball. Duffy ' s strength is his curveball and he dosent let him pitch backwards. Oh well
  17. Dick's approval of Twins dugout having words with Donaldson yesterday was out of place. The Twins are the worst team in baseball right now, they have no credibility to criticize another team. People who live in glass house shouldn't throw stones.
  18. Kind of a different slant on Mauer. Saw the commercial the other day on Twins players playing wiffle ball at a park. It ends with Mauer hitting. Low and behold he hits the wiffle ball to left field. Some things never change
  19. If our front office was any good we wouldn't be sitting looking at another 90-100 loss season. So why would the Graham situation be a mystery. This regime has not scouted well, drafted well and developed players that are major league contenders for many years. We have had one player that was drafted in Moreau that was top notch. Mauer was a top pick that a blind squirrel could have picked. We got lucky with Johan S. But other than him what pitcher have we come through our organization who was a bona fief #1. I think every other team in baseball has had one except us. We can't see the trees through the forest, we have bad management, it's as simple as that.
  20. Why is it when a player gets moved up a level in the minors and struggles they say it takes time to adjust but that dosent apply to the majors? This is not a contending team, barely a competitive team. I can see it now, Buxton is successful in AAA for a couple of months and gets moved up. But struggles again once he is up. It's a different level where you have to learn how to improve against better competition. Some guys can't because they aren't good enough. The good ones do. If we were a contending team you have to send them down but we are not. Sending them down just means they will struggle again when they come up again. You will never know what you have unless you leave them up. They may not be good enough to stay in the majors but to yoyo them back and forth is non productive for a non contending g team.
  21. Glad to see TR making moves to help the big league team out. Not that we need it of course
  22. Are you sure you want to let Terry Ryan trade anybody on this team unless the purpose is to clear spaces and not bring back assets. His track record is very questionable.
  23. When we drafted Hicks alot more teams wanted him as a pitcher than a position player. If we had him still how would he look as a power arm in the bullpen. We don't seem to be able to see the tree through the forest. Sharp baseball people could have done this with some vision.
  24. If we are going to try and trade veterans that are taking us nowhere who is going to evaluate potential players that come to us? The same group that got us where we are? Not a track record that inspires me.
