  1. Awfully hard to contend without major league depth. Grossman, Adrianna, Wilson and then there is Buxton.
  2. Hmm mm, Sano Gets hurt in 2017 Escobar fills in and Twins take off. 2018 Sano gets hurt and "Mighty Mouse" fills in again and Twins take off. Correlation or causation?
  3. to be an elite team you've got to have depth that is quality Major League. Our payroll provides minimum 4AAAA players. Escobar gives us that but he now is a starter. We have no outfielders that are of that quality to replace injuries that are inevitable or days off for rest. Nunez and Escobar would have been what's needed plus a 4th starting outfielder/dh that is right handed.
  4. Buxton for Grossman and I am not sure about Sano. Mabel for Petit's spot. Until he stops striking out so much. He like Puig and they had to move him down in LA.
  5. Mauer Kepler Escobar Rosario Dozier Morrison Grossman Petite Castro My batting order
  6. Joe Mauer is the only first baseman in MLB without a home run and only one other thing 1st baseman has fewer RBI'S. he is part of the problem.
  7. It appeared Hildenberg had a rough spring. Send him down to get it worked out. These games count.
  8. Heard his nice interview on MLB channel this morning he talked about his back injury and the effect on him last year before he went on the disabled list his piches were were breaking across the plate because he was not able to finish and stretch out the last part of his delivery normally they break down not across the plate and he attributed that for the Home Run problems after the disabled list he came back and did not have that problem. He was very excited to be coming to the twins.
  9. T he only bunt I would have done is with Mauer on a squeeze against Chapman. Mauer hasnt come close against him.
  10. Gibson has gone from breezing through the first 4 innings then not making through the 5th to just the opposite. Early struggle then shut down after that. Go figure.
  11. Lineup construction? Your designated hitter is batting 9th and just got called up from the minors batting .260. Are we serious about trying to get in the playoffs or what.
  12. I am giving my MVP vote to our new hitting coach. The light bulbs have been turned on by him.
  13. Question is will this front office allow this team to play out the season to try and get a wild card or trade off for another "future" team. As a fan who just watched 6 years of lousy baseball that was a slap in the face to the team and fans for a return of marginal potential. Too bad these new Execs didn't have to watch the last six years.
  14. Our great pitching evaluators trade 2 solid major leaguers for low level low ceiling pitchers and take the remaining fight out of this team. But wait till next year and the year after......let alone that Granite is on this team.
  15. It's bush league to keep running Geminez out there. Put a major league bullpen out there if you are going to charge $12 for a beer.
  16. Plouffe 4 hrs 9 rbi's at third would have looked nice with Sano DH and first base where he belongs.
  17. This site has provided me a connection to my favorite team that I grew up after retiring to Phoenix. A thousand thanks would not be enough!! There are so many well thought out, insightful articles that it is the gold star of info on the Twins. Thanks guys!
  18. Why not move Dozier to first base and Polanco to second. Gives us a power hitting first baseman. Let Mauer DH.
  19. Drafting Jay as high as we did and then trying to turn him into a starter is puzzling. Are we surprised that he can't handle the load?
  20. The countdown is on, once the Vikings start practice the Twins will be begging for attention.
  21. Why is it when a player gets moved up a level in the minors and struggles they say it takes time to adjust but that dosent apply to the majors? This is not a contending team, barely a competitive team. I can see it now, Buxton is successful in AAA for a couple of months and gets moved up. But struggles again once he is up. It's a different level where you have to learn how to improve against better competition. Some guys can't because they aren't good enough. The good ones do. If we were a contending team you have to send them down but we are not. Sending them down just means they will struggle again when they come up again. You will never know what you have unless you leave them up. They may not be good enough to stay in the majors but to yoyo them back and forth is non productive for a non contending g team.
  22. When we drafted Hicks alot more teams wanted him as a pitcher than a position player. If we had him still how would he look as a power arm in the bullpen. We don't seem to be able to see the tree through the forest. Sharp baseball people could have done this with some vision.
