  1. No, he is not a wizard. That makes the off season no more a winner. They got a bad pitcher and were bad. Are we supposed to like that? I don't know how that thought can't stick. They were so awful, that we are supposed to be happy they signed bad pithers?
  2. Not sure how that changes my point. People tend to want more than fifth starters when their team has none.
  3. I will say this about the front office this year, the lower end pairs are better, which is good. But, there aren't many telly good players here yet. It is great they for Milone, but that isn't going to fox things here. Yes, every little improvement matters, but they have a ways to go yet.
  4. Who hated KC? What people hated, IMO, was that Ryan made him the best starter through his actions two years ago. As a fifth starter, I HS no problem with him. As for the May comments, ugh. Really? Judging after one strt, and straw manning what others expected? Sometimes this site is depressing. I am glad they made room for Milone. That is what awful teams do at the end of the year, call up the possible future to gather major league information, and to prep for the future. Which hopefully will actually come here some day.
  5. great news. Let the future commence.
  6. Fear.... they do seem to be infected with it when it comes to pitchers
  7. I'd really be calling for the GM's head at that point....
  8. A: Love this site. B: Links to the minor leaguer's stats from the roster pages would be great..... c: More video/pictures? Not sure, but I think that would get you more traffic..... d: everyone should use more ".....", imo, of course
  9. Congrats to Mr. Hicks on a great month. Continue to hope for his long term MLB success. Glad he was promoted. The number of LARGE 1B/DH types fascinates me for some reason.......
  10. They are already locked into the Twins past age 30.....this isn't about service time.
  11. How is it less hard on his arm to pitch in AAA, than here? If you are worried about injury, just sit him down. That seems like a bad idea.
  12. He will still pitch in AAA....so would you rather he reach his limit there, or here?
  13. I don't know they are blowing it. We just don't know the strategy. I'm hoping there is a strategy, and they are following it. I just am struggling to understand what that strategy is right now.
  14. Mauer hit into a DP? He's MLB ready then..... I don't know why, but I just couldn't help myself.
  15. Meyer will be 25 next year, I believe. Another year of control should not be an issue at this point.
  16. I guess I don't understand why "taxing" the bullpen is a: an issue. b: a certainty. Plenty of guys in AAA can be brought up to man the bullpen if that is really an issue, which doesn't even seem like it is certain to happen. They seem to call up hitters willy nilly (Polanco), but seem terrified to bring up pitchers. It is, as a fan, maddening. The 40 man issue is a red herring. He needs to be added at the end of the year anyway. The only tiny risk is that he gets hurt, and needs to be on the MLB IR, and not the MiLB IR. Other than that, it isn't an actual issue anymore.
  17. Agreed, Span is making himself a ton of money right now.
  18. To be clear, the comments are nits....the point that the pitching seems SO MUCH deeper now, is awesome, and I don't want to lose sight of that.
  19. I'm not worried about it, but I'm not overly impressed that a college senior (23 years old) can dominate 18 year olds right out of HS. It's great he is now at the level he should have started at. It's great that they seem to be moving their pitchers up (at the low levels) this year. A nice change from the past, imo. Not sure why it is unreasonable to be frustrated that the clearly best or 2nd best pitcher in the whole system is in AAA, when he is on a pitch limit, and that limit seems to be being reached in AAA, and not in the majors. My comment was about that, not if he should be in the top 5 for the month. Being frustrated is an emotion, not logic. And, that slash line is ridiculous.
  20. I'll ask a different way, why is he not in AAA?
  21. Why is Hicks in AA still? Can anyone explain that?
  22. Not too excited about 23 year olds below A ball.....but at least he did what he should have. That slash line against Meyer is ridiculous. Very frustrated he's wasting his limited pitches in AAA. It's not like he is 22 years old...... Very impressive stuff from Chih-Wei Hu. Really seems like he has a chance.
