  1. Strongly concur. It's so much cheaper than the money they spend on bad MLB players.....
  2. I know this is off topic, but it possibly explains some things about both Wright and McKay that I had not considered: danny 2:13 Why are the Braves going far over slot value for Wright? Would he turn down the slot value at #5? (alternative question: Freeman to 3B? Really?) Keith Law 2:13 My guess? That was worked out beforehand, so that Wright would turn down underslot offers at picks 1-4 if any arose.
  3. this is the time people assured me promotions would occur. I remain hopeful.
  4. Well, I'd have him in AAA right now.....so we agree on that part for sure. It is, after all, the middle of the season, and he was good in AA last year.
  5. What special treatment? He's been suspended, and then he gets his job back. That's pretty much what happens in every industry. heck, in most, he's not even suspended at all....
  6. Gonsalves might "only" be a 4/5, but he's going to pitch in the majors, and he's going to do so for a long time (assuming health). to me, it's that low risk of not pitching at all that matters.
  7. I have no idea why anyone is talking about .300 in the majors, that just doesn't happen for almost anyone in 2017...... 29 qualified hitters are doing so right now. 25 did so last year.
  8. You think maybe the 87 Twins were an outlier, maybe?
  9. There aren't many good FA pitchers next year.....I would love to see them go big, but there aren't many choices next year.
  10. I don't see any reason to have Berrios come back out. That's exactly how/when Kintzler should be used. Good decision by Molitor.
  11. We disagree it would be rushing him, that's clear.
  12. then this is pretty much your pitching staff next year, plus a pretty mediocre FA......how will they win next year?
  13. if we don't think he can help in his first year, that is even MORE reason for him to pitch this year some...
  14. Wouldn't you rather have Gonsalves by then, if nothing else has been done?
  15. The number 1 overall pick can't even make this roster......
  16. I have my questions about Kiriloff (the Twins have to be aggressive? ), but this is the right top 5. No way Lewis can be ahead of a guy in AA who is playing SS and hitting like that. Maybe someday, when he actually plays some pro ball, or if Gordon drops off, but not now.
  17. And yet, I'd argue calling up Berrios last year is part of why he's good this year. He got some experience, and found ways to get better.
  18. There are 165 qualified hitters on the FG leader board. Rosario is 130th. Dropping to 200 ABs, Rosario is 153rd out of 197.
  19. I don't have any expectations. I want them to be patient with them, and give them a chance, whichever is up. I have no interest in Breslow being on this roster, and I'd like them to try out young guys. I don't have any interest in Belisle either. this team isn't winning a playoff this year. They weren't last year. They need, imo, to commit to 2018 and beyond. It's clear the FO and others here don't agree, I'm cool with that, but that's where nearly all of my posts come from.....a belief that they should be building for 2018 and beyond.
  20. I just hope they are as patient with Busenitz as we are with Rosario.....so far, that has not been their MO with RPs.
  21. Which is why some of us want even more young players up, to get their feet wet....like some RPs for example. So the manager might trust them next year when needed.
  22. I couldn't agree with paragraph 2 more strongly.
  23. Like I said, I am not saying give up on him at all....I'm saying he's not all that good right now. And, not being good, that's part of the problem. While the pitching is terrible, their lack of even above average players, or great players, is a real problem. They have Sano and who else that we know is even going to be a good hitter on this roster after next year?
  24. Really, just waiting for GoT to start, and American Gods to get to Netflix/Amazon.....
