  1. So, 0 fer 2 on trades, at least. Let me know when they actually do something that makes the team better.
  2. what does an average pitcher cost? And, if you are upgrading from colon or Turley or Wilk or ????....average is a huge upgrade.
  3. In this thread, I pointed out options.... http://twinsdaily.com/topic/26829-starting-pitchers/
  4. I can understand that stance. I'm really on the fence, like I said. No more 1 move moves.....either really try, or don't really try. But don't give up part of the future JUST for Garcia. If you make one move, you better make 2-4 moves.
  5. not over a couple million dollars. Prospect going back? sure/maybe. but a couple million dollars? What's the real risk here, if it is a 10-15th ranked prospect and a few million dollars, vs a 12-17th ranked prospect and couple million less? either they want him, and think he can help, or they don't think he can help.
  6. trading a low level prospect for 1/2 a year of a player is not a major trade.
  7. if they think he's going on the DL, don't trade for him at all.
  8. I'd guess money is the primary reason one place is a destination or not.
  9. well, that seems silly. Either they think he's going to help, and should pay for that help, or they don't. We are talking less than half a year, and a couple million dollars.....
  10. Given that I've wanted Garver here for months, this would bum me out. I think it's fair. I won't love it. I am not a true believer this year, and I am not a fan of trading 1 prospect for 1 move. I hate this half way stuff. If that is the only move, I'll hate it. If it is one of 2-4 moves, I might like it more.
  11. please tell me they aren't being cheap. I mean, if they think he can help, take on the money. It's not tens of millions here.....
  12. At some point, they need to get some hitters. But then, you know way more about this than me. I'm just a Twins' fan talking about the Braves..... As for the draft, I'd think we spent months talking about the Twins not worrying about anything other than best available plus gaming the system. I assume that's true for the Braves in round 1, so I'm not sure that is the same thing.
  13. then I misunderstood again! I thought you meant that if a team leaks, just stop talking at that point out of some principle. But, if the price they want is fair, would you still do it?
  14. why? Why give up on a negotiation if you want the player over that? We see leaks every day, it's part of the game.
  15. if so, they should shut down right now. I hope not.
  16. Are we sure ATL didn't leak first? I would.....
  17. I'm guessing Wade or Granite, personally. It fits their needs, I think. Garver is also likely. I think they want someone close to the majors, given where they are in the process, and I don't think they want more pitchers.
  18. Will this reach Dozier traded thread length, all for the same outcome? I'm going: no maybe
  19. that sure would make it cheap on teh Twins' side! I like it.
  20. Agreed. And I'm sure some of the board will cringe at the name, since that's the range of highly variable outcomes and fan favorites.
  21. I'd add Thorpe and Stewart to that list. Though I don't know how Stewart does it, but his last 6 starts have worked, strikeouts be danged.
