  1. I just think these guys, and this is clearly my opinion based on anecdotal observation, have a better shot at money and careers if moved to relief sooner rather than later. See Jax, as an example.
  2. I'd like to see those two in high A this year..... And wonder about funderburk maybe moving to RP and getting more out of his pitches....
  3. Of course, neither of those is a thing at all..... And what makes you think it is physical, and not something else? My issues are twofold.... Not every damn thread needs to be complaining about something that won't change. Every thread. Over and over and over. Second, this is how baseball is played, and it isn't a Rocco issue at all, but a twins/MLB decision. Complain, occasionally, about the game changing, but stop saying this is on Rocco.
  4. Y'all realize it's the front office and the manager that manage the starters this way.... Or that almost no pitchers average 6 innings per start? Anyone here actually look at the rest of baseball?
  5. There isn't one person in baseball that agrees with your assessment of the prices paid. Wow.
  6. It would be cool if one thread on this site could not be about the manager and how he manages the pitchers. Just one thread.
  7. I'm changing my grade to A. The Padres have traded 66 prospects in the last few years, and are projected to be the best NL team the rest of the year. That might not happen, of course, but they've put themselves in that position. The twins didn't go that far, they still have nearly all their top prospects. But, they shored up their biggest weaknesses for this year and next, while giving up good, but not elite, prospects. It's hard to understand anyone not liking the base of players on this roster for this year and next. My impression of the FO definitely improved this week.
  8. I agree with that last part....he should not be on the roster if he can't play. Well, pretty much your whole post.
  9. And here I thought your first post was a joke. Interesting!
  10. I just can't blame the FO for this.....Larnach, Kiriloff, Lewis, Kepler all hurt at the same time. Plus Garlick may now be hurt. It's hard to see how any team could lose their 2-5th best OFers at the same time and have a good OF during that time. Luckily, Gordon is actually have a decent year. And Celestino just isn't quite ready (is he hurt, I've lost count).
  11. Meh. They needed pitching this year, I don't get the angst. Sure, he could be good in two or more years..
  12. Big fan of this for Minnesota. Hate it for Baltimore, who could be good this year or next, and gets nothing in the short term. This not being only a rental makes it very good.
  13. How so? He's hurt. How is that on the organization? Seriously. Sometimes this site....
  14. Lots of ads stretching out the width lately. Been really bad.
  15. I wish him luck. But I'm getting nervous about his health. The Kubel comparison is very apt.
  16. I'm just hoping one of them is healthy next year for the year, and three other two contribute at this point. More than that would be great, of course.
  17. Concur. I think this is a good deal. This team now has three legit starters for this year and next. Finding another in the group they have will be huge.
  18. Nice deal for both teams. Definitely worth the risk for the twins, especially with two more years of control. This is why I always say move mediocre starters to the bullpen sooner rather than later .....
  19. The As wanted MLB ready pitching. It sends no message about the system other than they didn't have that specific thing. They got a guy that's made three starts this year, and at least one of the others will be in the majors next year.
  20. Opportunity cost. If he's on the roster, someone else isn't. He won't be here next year, let someone else get experience. That's my reason to DFA him.
