  1. As Doc pointed out, no one from the last two drafts is in the majors. They've essentially had four drafts to produce pitchers. They also need to take hitters. The real key is more trades, imo. Kepler and Arraez should be dealt for pitchers.
  2. You realize medicine is an art, not science. We have no idea if they screwed up those first two, or if things changed or if they were willing to accept the risk. None.
  3. Outside a couple teams, isn't all SP depth filled with prospects? I really don't know what people realistically expect here.
  4. And yet, a year ago he was a top prospect. IMO, you don't give up on that after one bad year, where he was somewhat hurt. YMMV, of course. Also, no idea how trading anything for a 4th OF is a good idea.....like, of all the way to use assets, I don't get this. Laureano hasn't been healthy for two years, playing less than 100 games each of the last two.
  5. Ryan is a pitcher with five years of control left. Has any team done that for a pitcher? I can squint and see Miranda, but he's not shown as much as any player Atlanta has extended, but I can see that one. Lewis hasn't walked injury free in two years, I'm passing on that one.
  6. The Twins have no player I'd do that for right now. Like who?
  7. Agreed. I have no idea how this is a good idea. People seem desperate for moves, or content.
  8. Not even close. Other than the Guardians, none of those teams were good at any point last year.
  9. Good one. Let me know when they do that with the millions they don't spend.
  10. Not at all. And, what free agent is as good?
  11. I don't know what will happen, but if this team is healthy and they don't blow the vast majority of one run games, they win the division last year. The SP and RP is better to start this year than last year..... So, sure, they could win. That's why I don't believe for one minute they are trading Kepler or anyone else.
  12. The Twins are better off with Gallo and a prospect, than with Kepler and 2.5 million they won't spend.
  13. The leverage didn't change. That's just not how it works. And, does he really? come on.
  14. No issue. I was just clarifying, since I was unclear
  15. So, you get the same player plus a prospect, that's a win. I remain convinced they aren't trading Kepler
  16. The asking price didn't change. Why would it?
  17. There is a study out there showing that teams that trade more often get better faster than teams that are afraid to lose trades and sit pat..... I'd trade him, but I really don't think they will.
  18. They have four drafts they could have found a pitcher. Some of that had to be used on hitting. They traded part of that for Gray, but that doesn't count. They traded for Ryan. Does anyone think TB thought Ryan would be this good, for 2.5 months of a hitter? I would hope they had one more established starter by now....but no one trusts a guy that debuted last year, so that's actually three drafts (since the last three don't count, as no one is up from the last two, and apparently we don't trust rookies, which, given the data, makes sense. Less than half of rookie starters are good more than a year or two later.....). So, how many do you expect in three years? I was hoping for 1.
  19. Of the three, Martin is the only one in that last that "needs to prove something." Prielipp hasn't even pitched yet....I have no idea how he's on this list. Severino and Javier could be on this list. And, as someone said above, Jordy B (not even going to try to spell his name).
