  1. Dalvin's agent posting things on Twitter that sure hint he expects not to be in MN anymore....
  2. Neither of these indicate the bullpen is a PRIORITY. They indicate they are going to take a flyer on two guys that might be good. If they aren't, they won't be on the roster. I'm not sure how this is hard to understand.
  3. Ya, I don't like this either. And, it isn't that they CAN'T stick at SS, it is there is only ONE SS on the field at a time. And, SS and CF are often the most athletic, so they can move around to a new position. This is just a really bad/odd way to think of elite athletes, as "positionless".
  4. My parents would be so proud. Great community here!
  5. 10 years ago is a completely different game. People didn't swing for the fences, and pitchers threw like 93......
  6. This. Both picks were second guessed immediately when made. I wish both of them well. I'm sure they are working hard to be the player they want to be. Both seem however, limited in that likelihood.
  7. The more I think about this, the more I'd approach the owners and tell them I want to blow up the team (outside three OL and JJ) and start over (if I was the GM and coach). I'd trade for as many picks in next year's draft as possible. They gave us a fun year this year.....I'd be ok with two bad years for the improved odds of long term success.
  8. I'd love that.....or, you know, Nola in there ( no chance). The rating services are definitely down on Prelipp for some reason.
  9. Lots of bad luck with injury with this latest batch. Even Martin had a wrist issue last year.
  10. I'm sure there will be a Cincinnati Red they should bring in instead
  11. Larnach, Wallner, and any other hitter can play first. For the OP, where is he playing in Minnesota? They are filled with infielders at this point, not even counting Gordon.....
  12. So you are good with Farmer or Solano at DH A LOT? I mean, who is YOUR DH given this roster? Gordon?
  13. Seriously, "analytics says starters only go 5 innings" is bunk. They had Bundy and Archer and injured players last year as starters. Move on already.
  14. Ya, that was very clear.... They don't really have much of a DH at this point, do they? Gordon? Farmer? Whichever big time player has the day off from the field? No Larnach or Wallner at this point, not without an injury.
  15. There is SKINNY, and there is take a chance on a guy skinny.......Who is your DH, now that Larnach is in AAA? Farmer? Gordon? That's the downside, IMO. And yes, that's assuming good health to start the year.
  16. They aren't making roster decisions on hot springs (only injuries), I'd think. This roster is set if healthy. The only battles are in the bullpen at this point, and even that's a spot, MAYBE two.
  17. I have no idea where that last paragraph comes from at all, but the Ferengi joke is good.
  18. If even one of them is ready, the Twins are in first, and all these INF are healthy, they'll just sit in AAA even if they have more upside than the backups already in MN.....which might be good for this year and the regular season, but isn't going to help next year or the playoffs. I get it, I don't love it. They are pretty much blocking every inexperienced player at this point. Which clearly indicates they think much higher of their chances this year than everyone else does.
  19. Bad Moon Rising 1:01 Dark horse Twins prospects that could be on upcoming top 100 lists? Emmanuel Rodriguez? Marco Raya? Connor Prelipp? Eric A Longenhagen 1:01 I'll add David Festa to that list, more likely than Prielipp for me.
  20. Larger Bases 12:15 There are a number of players, like Jose Salas, that have fallen off the list from last year. Has your opinion on guys like Salas changed meaningfully or has he slipped from a 50 FV to a 45+ FV? Eric A Longenhagen 12:15 Salas is just a 45 now
  21. not me: Mike 12:42 Is Emmanuel Rodriguez's omission from the list primarily related to health (his knee), contact problems (26% k-rate at low-A), or something else? Eric A Longenhagen 12:42 the combo
  22. Fangraphs has their updated top 100. Lee is very, very high, though the expected date is weird (and people are asking about it). https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2023-top-100-prospects/ well, here's the answer: The ETAs correspond to when guys need to be added to the 40-man for Rule 5 protection, rather than expected MLB debut.
  23. That's my issue. They are really securing the FLOOR, but I fell like my 5 foot 9 head would hit the ceiling of the backups (though I really like Farmer, and they got him before CC).
