  1. And yet, they sit in AA......Other teams promote guys from AA. Last year you told me that they could just as easily promote guys from AA as AAA....... Larnach isn't a future piece, he's shown that now. I mean, he might be, but I don't think we should assume he will be. I know why he's up for this short time, but why not take a chance? You want a 40 man move? You really don't see any player that can't be taken off the 40 man? Really? Yes, I'd rather a guy that MIGHT be a legit 3B be up, rather than a known utility guy. Farmer hasn't hit all year, so no idea why you'd argue that he's the right guy there. They are going how many weeks w/o a starter at 3B? Castro isn't hitting either. Both those guys are backups for a reason.....
  2. This site would have ripped them to shreds for trading Miranda last year.....shreds. Cano was brutal here, agreed, no one thought he'd be like this. If other teams thought he'd be this good, MN could have traded him for a ton a good prospect at the deadline, not thrown him into a deal.
  3. I understand why they are doing this, but this is not going to go well for LAA...... As for the prospects, depends on who you ask, as far as I can tell. Some outlets like the stuff on the pitcher a lot.....some don't. In any event, it is what the Sox should be doing, selling off assets. The central looks no more difficult next year, this FO needs to figure out the OF for the future (and put Lee at whatever position he's going to play in the majors already).
  4. As for this year.... I think they'll get one or two more RPs, likely for Severino or Prato or Larnach. I'm hoping they DFA Gallo....they've clearly done everything they could to give him a shot the last week (CF and 1B), and it still isn't working. Just putting Wallner in left over him is worth a win or three. The elephant in the room remains Buxton. I'd put him in CF, and if he can't play there, really, then I'd IL him. Put Julien at DH, Polanco at 2B, and Lee, Prato, or Severino at 3B until Lewis returns (it hurts my brain they aren't using a legit 3B for a month+ during a playoff chase).
  5. I'd make that Petty for Gray trade 100x out of 100 opportunities. 100. Every OF got hurt last year, they literally started their 7-9th best options last year for multiple games. I'm not sure how anyone prepares for that. They tried to do other things (Mahle and Lopez) to fill in other holes, those didn't work. It's not like they didn't try, they just butchered those two deals (not that there were many other options other than Mahle).
  6. People only commenting on this from a baseball perspective make me sad....this is a class move.
  7. I also don't expect much. Heck, I don't even expect them to do little obvious things.....
  8. Neither of those guys is a legit MLB prospect at SS or 3B. Lee should be in St. Paul. As should Severino and Kiersay. Miranda is an issue for Lee playing 3B (why is Lee playing SS? There is zero chance he's a regular there for at least three years)
  9. They have three SS prospects. They want to see who can play. It's a strategy I endorse, and what the Twins should have been doing with Gallo and Wallner.... Not to mention Lee, Severino, or Prato at third when Lewis went down.
  10. It's also a risk to keep guys.... Like Larnach, Miranda,or Martin..... Who had a lot more value as trade chips than they do now.
  11. Promote guys.... Why is Larnach up and not Prato at third? Are they trying to win this year, or worry about mediocre guys on the back of the 40 man? Lee and Severino should be promoted. I'd prefer either even in Minnesota at third, but at least ST Paul.... I see other teams promoting guys, even from AA.... Meantime, here? Wallner is clearly better than Gallo.....
  12. Showing Wallner should have stayed up... How many more wins with Wallner instead of Gallo the last month?
  13. 100% sure I said that the OF would be bad if he was there....not sure your point.
  14. Sure, 2024 matters....but if the OF is Larnach and Celestino and Wallner, it might be worse than this year's OF..... Larnach does not look like part of the future, but he might be. That's the kind of guy you take a chance on acquiring, not building around if you are a serious contender. I understand why Larnach WAS in St. Paul (options and injuries and all), but we are past the time to worry about that. Gallo is just plan not good. If he's on the roster, and Larnach isn't, well, that says plenty, IMO.
  15. I don't think Lewis will ever be fully healthy. I've advocated for polanco to play third on his return, and that looks possible. Between those two, third is covered. They need an OFor two... And RP. I'd be happy if prato had come up for Buxton....or Severino....or Lee, who is still playing SS exclusively even though CC is going nowhere.... So, hard pass on this idea that I previously thought might be a good Idea.
  16. He was up when polanco got hurt, then sent down when polanco got healthy. Literally blocked due to health. I don't know how that's even debatable.
  17. Don't hold your breath on promotions.... They've barely promoted anyone to AAA, meaning AA is full.....I don't understand the thinking at all, of keeping AAAA players in St Paul you refuse to promote. Severino and Lee should be in St Paul. Prato with the Twins while Buxton was out, at third. I really am unsure what they're doing. While we watch Atlanta and Milwaukee call up guys from AA.... Over the last couple years
  18. Agreed. Not even close to the same thing. Larnach can't beat out Gallo. He's not a rookie at a super scarce position.
  19. Julien was literally stuck in AAA this year..... So, it just happened.
  20. Almost every starter is a RHP. He's so much better on offense than MAT... And that makes MAT a great defensive sub
  21. I was so wrong about him. Good for him. Also, wow, QBs make a lot of money
