It is the best option, like it or not. It's not like varland is a seasoned veteran. If he's in the pen, and they need a starter for more than one start, they can rest him until the second start. There isn't much future left this year. I'd time to try to win. And the back of the bullpen is awful.

No one misses your point.... We don't agree with calling up guys that aren't ready or are injured. There is no random guy in the minors better than what they have.

Hard to argue with your rankings, though I might trust Winder more than you do right now, but not much more..... Real bummer that Stewart got hurt, that would bump everyone down a spot, real bummer. I blame the FO for this mess, 100%. How Ockert is on this roster, and Winder isn't hurts my brain, splits be damned. How they refused to add to the roster at the deadline stinks (though this COULD be ownership, hard to say). And no, Richards doesn't count as an addition, how HE's on the roster over Winder or Varland is truly mind boggling at this point.
