  1. 100x out of 100. He can play SS and CF, and CC and Buxton will get hurt....
  2. I like the 7th round pick this year.....from what I read and highlights. In fairness, I think the CB that was killed by a drunk driver was going to be a starter.....not the FO fault there. And, pretty likely their 2nd pick this year is a defensive star, IMO. so that should have been 2 this year, easy.
  3. I thought it was clear we were discussing the trade deadline and not deals at other times? They made deadline deals that mattered for prospects or money one time under this FO. The Cleveland example was in reply to a poster that said Cleveland doesn't make deadline deals....which they did this year. Nothing more or less than that. Not if they were good deals or not. Just in reply to the statement that they don't do it. I get it. Some people think standing still isn't risk taking, and it is better not to make deadline deals. Pretty much ever. Despite the fact nearly every team does it, even Cleveland this year. I don't agree. We aren't changing minds here, I guess I'm done.
  4. Low minors are awful at holding runners on and throwing. I think we'll know more as he advances.
  5. Why do all those GMs still have jobs if what they do is wrong, year after year? Standing still isn't working in terms of the playoffs, does that make it wrong?
  6. This reminds me of the Jax discussion in the past..... It's better to be a RP making millions than sitting in AAA....
  7. And none of this excuses dealing for this guy. He's not good. He never has been.
  8. Every other team trades for guys occasionally..... No one said trade a great prospect, none were dealt this year in the top 100. It can't be that every other team is wrong.
  9. Does he need to be on the roster by a certain date to be in the playoffs? Because I prefer him over at least three current guys ...
  10. Sigh. Just enter a plea deal ....
  11. Man, Chief and I keep agreeing lately. I'm kind of scared.
  12. No idea, but he's clearly better than at least two, if not four, current players. That's the point for me.... Get the best players in Minnesota and see what happens. We're not going to agree, clearly
  13. It's not just about blowing leads, is about keeping them in games they aren't leading too.
  14. No idea why I need to type this again, but life is a dial not switch. There are degrees of trying to win.
  15. Zero top 100 prospects were dealt. And, that's one trade. What about all the other trades? Year after year we're told every other team making deals is wrong.... Every. Other. Team. Can't be wrong.
  16. I never said they weren't trying to win. That's a clear exaggeration of my statement. And you know it. Every year we are told they aren't good enough to make deals at the deadline. And every year but one they've lost in the playoffs without winning one series. Other teams keep making deals, and their GMs still have jobs, so other teams must think it makes sense to get better, or at least try to, at the deadline. It's clear this team doesn't. And it h hasn't worked at all to stand still.
  17. How has not trading for guys worked under this ownership? One series win in over two decades....
  18. No one was good as Festa was traded. That's a bunk excuse.
