  1. My shorter list From Cedar Rapids to Fort Myers: Mitch Garver (C, 1B) - dude can hit. They can find room for him and Turner. Todd Van Steensel (RHR) From Fort Myers to New Britain: Levi Michael (2B/SS) after he comes off the DL. He's spent plenty of time in Ft Myers. Jose Berrios (RHS) - when May goes up From New Britain to Rochester: Danny Ortiz (OF) Kennys Vargas (1B) - though I'm not sure if they have room unless Colabello plays OF Sean Gilmartin (LHS) - when May goes up Lester Oliveros (RHR) From Rochester to the Twins: Trevor May (RHS) - when a spot opens up Michael Tonkin (RHR) - when a spot opens up in the bullpen Kris Johnson - when a spot opens up in the bullpen (Duensing or Thielbar)
  2. From MLBTraderumors interview. Twins love their multisport athletes.
  3. To get them innings. Better question is why they spent high picks on relief pitchers.
  4. They've gotten into trouble just throwing away outfielders lately but I think when Fuld is back they need to DFA Kubel. They don't need Parmelee, Arcia and Kubel on the roster and Parmelee defends better than Kubel.
  5. Couldn't hit the glove in April. Suzuki set up inside and Nolasco was outside. I haven't watched him lately. I assume this has improved.
  6. KLaw says the White Sox love Kolek.
  7. ...threw up at 31 flavors last night.
  8. Can someone explain to me why Tyler Kolek is not Colt Griffin?
  9. Is there really that much difference between these scenarios? A) Suzuki gets hurt and Pinto has to move to C thus causing pitchers (or PH) to bat for the remainder of the game Suzuki gets hurt and Chris Herrmann goes in as the backup thus causing Chris Herrmann to bat for the remainder of the game
  10. KSTP 1500 broadcasts out of Maplewood. Being close to a tall building is bad. Diffraction is your friend.
  11. Good information. Another 23 meters would certainly help with building shadowing. There aren't too many 100 meter buildings in Minneapolis. From wiki: "Minneapolis, the largest city in the U.S. state of Minnesota, is home to 245 completed high-rises,[1] 34 of which stand taller than 300 feet (91 m)." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Minneapolis The station transmits out of New Hope. If there is a tall building between you and the transmitter that explains the problem.
  12. Pine City has a Twins radio affiliate on 100.9. I don't think they carry the Spanish broadcast. The only thing I miss about the Twins on WCCO is Herb Carneal.
  13. I think Kepler should be traded before he goes bust
  14. I would forget about Stewart being promoted this season unless it is at the very end. He's essentially doing instructional work during games. He's improving his fastball and changeup while building stamina. Good things to work on.
  15. The Pohlads can't just increase the wattage of a radio station. The FCC only allows so many high wattage stations in a geographic area. Those stations cost a lot of money to purchase. They have done some beamforming work to get better coverage areas but I think they're running into urban canyon effects in the city. It is interesting that you can't get the signal south of Target Field. I have no problems receiving 96.3 just north of St. Paul all the way to North Branch. You might have shadowing from tall buildings. Get the antenna up as high as you can and try different ends of the house. If that doesn't work then you'll probably have to pay for MLB at-bat.
  16. Cuts are coming. My guess is they want to give the fringy guys some playing time to see who goes home. Thorpe and Gonsalves are not getting cut. They both might be slated for Betsy instead.
  17. Keep him and go year-to-year. Bullpen pitchers are volatile and he's not a free agent until 2019. He shouldn't get more than $5M a season even in his final year of arbitration.
  18. It was never Presley v. Hicks. It was Presley v. Bartlett and Bartlett is out of baseball.
  19. My original comment was about adding Meyer to the 40 man roster for one game and immediately sending him back down. You don't burn an option to make someone a spot starter in a doubleheader if you can help it. Meyer will be added when he's expected to stay on the roster.
  20. Forgot about Pelfrey. We'll have to wait and see the results. Some other pitcher might be hurt by then.
  21. Pretty simple from my point of view Arcia for Herrmann Willingham for Colabello Fuld for Santana
  22. Risers? I guess, but these guys were all pretty high on the list to start with. How about this list: Mitch Garver Levi Michael Kennys Vargas Aaron Slegers Logan Darnell Alex Wimmers
  23. Hicks' platoon splits as a LH batter are far worse than would be expected from a RH batter facing RH pitchers. That's why people think he should give it up.
  24. Phil Hughes looks like an example in the "Anderson is a good pitching coach" category. At least he's better than the Yankee pitching coach.
