Since Suzuki at 2 years $15M is probably NOT a good deal for the Twins they should be looking at their trade options. Maybe some team will give up their 'Wilson Ramos' at the deadline.
Gonsalves has been pitching for months in EST. Who knows what is going on. Without context I'm mostly lost. As an aside I'm really glad I didn't have dozens of people scrutinizing my first week on the job.
Suzuki might be able to score $7M this offseason as the top FA option at catcher. If he'll take a $4M extension now the Twins would be foolish not to extend him.
I think the Twins view Hamburger as an "organizational" player and they'll send him wherever he's needed. I agree that Oliveros has earned his promotion to AAA.
The Rangers are selling so I doubt they trade for Morales. I don't think the Twins are going to get much more than salary relief. Trade all of them plus Correia, Burton and Duensing.
How is his defense? Stuart Turner is playing well in Ft Myers at the moment. I think they're letting the catchers play everyday to develop rather than putting them both on the same team.
Lots of armchair psychologists here. He needs to go to AAA so he can get more experience hitting RHP from the RH side of the plate. That's all they need to say.
Josmil Pinto has caught nearly 400 games at the major and minor league levels and is 25 years old. If he doesn't have the skill to catch at the major league level RIGHT NOW he's very unlikely to acquire it. This should be his peak age for athletic ability.
One thing to keep in mind is MLB and MLBPA just implemented a huge paycut to the minor leagues in the form of the "slot" bonus system and the international free agent pool.
