  1. With the innings limit for Meyer my hope is he pitches fairly well in AAA the rest of the season and is able to spend September in the Twins bullpen.
  2. Always good to see a Nate Roberts sighting. Chronologically he's WAY too old for Ft Myers but he hasn't really played much since 2012.
  3. How is his defense? Stuart Turner is playing well in Ft Myers at the moment. I think they're letting the catchers play everyday to develop rather than putting them both on the same team.
  4. I imagine Pino is hoping for at least 42 more days on the roster
  5. Not much to see here. Lots of late round picks and low bonus international guys. Don't expect many of these guys to be in the system in 2016.
  6. Interesting to see Wheeler promoted and not Berrios.
  7. One thing helping Gibson is his groundball tendencies. Keeping the ball out of the Twins outfield is a good idea.
  8. Is Burdi going straight to Cedar Rapids?
  9. I see Rochester, MN as a much more viable Midwest League location due to the closer proximity but they would need to build the stadium.
  10. Gilmartin promoted. That should open a spot for Berrios.
  11. Thielbar still has options if they want to bump someone from the bullpen. Otherwise they could just release Jared Burton and keep Deduno.
  12. Pelfrey and Correia for Cahill, otherwise no deal.
  13. Lots of armchair psychologists here. He needs to go to AAA so he can get more experience hitting RHP from the RH side of the plate. That's all they need to say.
  14. Josmil Pinto has caught nearly 400 games at the major and minor league levels and is 25 years old. If he doesn't have the skill to catch at the major league level RIGHT NOW he's very unlikely to acquire it. This should be his peak age for athletic ability.
  15. One thing to keep in mind is MLB and MLBPA just implemented a huge paycut to the minor leagues in the form of the "slot" bonus system and the international free agent pool.
  16. Kendrys is now blocking Kennys from seeing the majors this year.
  17. Is baseball really getting all of the best athletes with the current system? Also, there are labor laws to consider. Not every player gets a signing bonus.
  18. Twins mentioned to Burdi they had one guy ahead of him on the board who went shortly before him. I'm guessing Kentucky LHP AJ Reed.
  19. Can they get Span back for Casey Fien?
  20. You and I are feeding the minor leaguers since so many of them qualify for food stamps.
  21. Worst color guy ever - Ron Santo. Don't know if he could even see at the end and there was frequent dead air like he was confused by what happened. Ted Robinson filling in a couple years back was absolutely fantastic.
  22. My shorter list From Cedar Rapids to Fort Myers: Mitch Garver (C, 1B) - dude can hit. They can find room for him and Turner. Todd Van Steensel (RHR) From Fort Myers to New Britain: Levi Michael (2B/SS) after he comes off the DL. He's spent plenty of time in Ft Myers. Jose Berrios (RHS) - when May goes up From New Britain to Rochester: Danny Ortiz (OF) Kennys Vargas (1B) - though I'm not sure if they have room unless Colabello plays OF Sean Gilmartin (LHS) - when May goes up Lester Oliveros (RHR) From Rochester to the Twins: Trevor May (RHS) - when a spot opens up Michael Tonkin (RHR) - when a spot opens up in the bullpen Kris Johnson - when a spot opens up in the bullpen (Duensing or Thielbar)
  23. From MLBTraderumors interview. Twins love their multisport athletes.
  24. To get them innings. Better question is why they spent high picks on relief pitchers.
