    Isola isn't even a starting catcher in AA. Players who start at catcher in the big leagues play more than 20 games there in the minors the season before. He's played more games at DH and at 1B than C. He should probably win the job in Wichita before you hand him the job in Minneapolis.

    Correa's offensive rate stats look pretty good. He's missed 20 games due to a bruised finger and COVID. His defensive numbers have not been as impressive but I wonder how much of that is the Twins defensive positioning versus where the Astros positioned him.

    Please, for the love of baseball, don't try to rely more heavily on the guy with the 88 MPH fastball.

    I think that might be part of the problem. The Twins would like to develop him more as a second baseman but his bat is ahead of his glove right now. His bat is ready for AAA but his glove probably isn't. They will need to make a decision on his future positions at fall instructionals. If he isn't making improvement at 2B it's probably time to move him to LF. Unfortunately they have to make the same decision on Austin Martin who isn't a SS but keeps playing most of his games there.

    Michael Conforto is still available. He'd be a huge help but my guess is he's holding out for a better team to make an offer.

    For the next 2 seasons he's definitely worth $35M per season. He will provide that much value this year and I think he's underperforming his potential.

    If he opts out he's not going to do worse than Trevor Story did. That's 6 years, $140M. However, if he stays he's guaranteed 2 years $70M. If those are his only options he should bet on himself and opt into the Twins deal, knowing he can find a deal that beats 4 years, $70M in two seasons. Realistically he should probably opt in unless he can get at least 6 years $180M this offseason.

    I suppose they could have called up Contreras. He's the only other healthy position player on the 40 man roster.

    By positional flexibility do you mean that he's a bad defender at more than one position? Looks like another Brent Rooker.

    If Correa finishes the season with the same production he has had all year he'll finish with 4.5 WAR. $35M is the going rate for that kind of production.

    Inflation has taken most of the discretionary money out of people's budgets. They should be doing deep discounts on the cheap seats to get people into games but I think they're afraid discounts will eventually make it to the expensive seats if they devalue the cheapest tickets.

    And yet, they were clearly outperforming the other options in AAA. People should remember that when they say "fire player XX and call someone up from the minors"

    Part of the problem is they are incredibly reliant on the MLB draft to fill the pitching pipeline. They are getting nothing from their international scouting.

    Agreed, but Dobnak has started the process. He should be up first, and considering they are depending on Aaron Sanchez to start at the moment he could be useful.

    Classic projection. "I'm angry about the team losing, and if I don't see Rocco screaming and yelling and throwing a temper tantrum every day then he doesn't care about winning and losing." The manager is not there to mirror the emotions of the fans. He's there to prepare the team to win. I don't know about you but if my manager yelled and screamed at me all day I'd quit. Throwing a temper tantrum because your team is losing is poor management. Rocco might not be manager of the year but at least he's not an immature hothead who will quickly alienate his players.

    16th in defense and 23rd in pitching. They've made moves to improve the pitching but not the defense.

    I think people need to be careful about projecting their feelings onto other people's motivations. The players are professionals and I'm sure they're putting in the necessary work. They don't have the talent. I'm actually impressed with how much value Rocco has been able to squeeze out of Chris Archer and Dylan Bundy. I didn't think Griffin Jax would be this good in the bullpen. They ended last season with rookie Joe Ryan and that's about it for a pitching staff. 54-70 one year ago, 62-57 this season. That's a huge improvement. It is frustrating that this division is so weak and they aren't taking advantage of it but the talent is just mediocre.

    Megill needs to pitch like Rich Hill - fastball at the top of the zone and curveball at the bottom. Instead he's throwing the fastball above the zone and hanging the curveball.

    I don't think the team believes in long relievers. Relievers almost always do better in short stints. The hard part about having a long reliever is that you don't know exactly when you need them - except when you have a pitcher like Archer in your rotation. Nobody would have predicted Mahle leaves the game that early.

    4 years with a club option like Dozier would be fair to both sides. Tyler Mahle is the other big name they should look at extending this offseason.
