  1. Based on the majority of comments, this loss is clearly all Tristan Gray’s fault.
  2. If you really want disappointment, play Larnach at first base.
  3. As an aside, this shows how high the floor is for MLB talent is right now. Jorge Soler still hammers the ball when he makes contact and he’s freely available for nothing. The worst teams win 40% of their games and the best win 60%. Imagine if all the NFL teams had records between 7-10 and 10-7 or all NBA teams were grouped between 33-49 and 49-33. MLB is long overdue for expansion.
  4. I’m not the one asking for a savior from the minors to fix the offense.
  5. Before yesterday’s game, Culpepper was hitting .188 in AAA since returning from injury.
  6. Every prospect should be promoted when they get 3 hits and demoted when they go 0 for 4. We can bounce them up and down like a yo-yo.
  7. They share 100% of TV revenue. Revenue sharing is necessary, a salary cap/floor is not.
  8. Will Hill figure it out before he’s out of options? That’s the Blue Jays dilemma now.
  9. If Jeffers told them he would turn down a QO as rumored, he did the team a huge favor. He said, keep me for the pennant race and you will still get your draft pick.
  10. Thank goodness. Going big would have been stupid for a team with a losing record at the trade deadline.
  11. It’s almost like SS and LF have different expectations for offensive production. If Walker Jenkins could play SS, I would be enthusiastically supporting his promotion.
  12. I think they improved the team by 2-3 wins over the remaining games. That could be enough to make the playoffs and it should be enough to have meaningful games in September. They didn’t sacrifice any talent who could help the team in the next 3 seasons.
  13. It is a lot easier to buy a reliever than to find a meaningful upgrade on offense. Arraez might have been their only option.
  14. I thought he re-injured his thumb. Culpepper is absolutely ice cold since returning.
  15. Is it? You can only bat 9 players. Gray is the only backup infielder in case of injury, unless they move Keaschall back to the infield.
  16. Tristan Gray has 2 at bats since his call up. He might get a couple more before Buxton returns. Lots of consternation over a few at bats.
  17. 38 games x 4AB = 152AB so they also need to be careful about playing time. ROY status makes them eligible for the prospect promotion incentive. Neither Jenkins nor Culpepper is forcing their way up at the moment.
