It says he’s not one of the top three players to move on from.
  2. DJL44
Not that much. Numbers like his don’t get big arbitration awards.

Peter Labuza wrote a whole article above that says Shelton doesn’t manage the team that differently from Baldelli, but sure. I’m being a non-contrarian for clicks.
  4. DJL44
Ober has the 3rd highest WAR on the pitching staff this season.
  5. DJL44
Raya has an ERA below league average. Gonzalez was one of the worst hitters on the Saints. Neither of them seems ready for a promotion. The Twins seem to want a bench full of players they don’t intend to play under any circumstances. They brought up Gonzalez and Ross because they don’t care if they play. I expect Martin to replace Gonzalez soon.
  6. DJL44
This team is not so flush with pitchers that they can throw away Bailey Ober.

I don’t see any prospects being held back. Except for Rodriguez, they are ALL in the Twins lineup. I am fine with sitting Larnach to play Rodriguez. Benching Jeffers, Bell and Minter to play marginal players like Jackson, Gonzalez and Raya is dumb. Not everyone in the minor leagues is a prospect.

    More than the Twins
  10. DJL44
Right, the “winning organizations” are the ones who lose on purpose to move up 3 spots in the draft.
  11. DJL44
There is plenty for each of the individual players to play for, regardless of the Twins overall record.
  12. DJL44
Is there some sort of hiatus scheduled that I don’t know about? Why is Twins Daily churning through all their offseason articles in September?
  13. DJL44
We all know the Twins can’t offer Jeffers a long-term contract that competes with other teams.
  14. DJL44
0-16 in their final games is within reach.
  15. DJL44
Agree that Pablo is great. Having a great clubhouse didn’t add one win to their record, or if it did add some wins they are a really untalented team.
  16. DJL44
Dude is a ball player. He gets the most out of his athletic ability.
  17. DJL44
They might want more than one decent relief pitcher in next seasons bullpen. Players want three things - wins, playing time and money. The order depends on the individual.
  18. DJL44
I don’t understand this. They seem very, very similar in decision making. Do you just like beards?
  19. DJL44
I don’t pay much attention to football.
  20. DJL44
I have no issue if they want to change out underperforming players like Larnach or Rogers with AAA players like Ramirez, Raya or Orze. I think it is dumb to sit your best players to play your worst ones just because your worst players are younger.
  21. DJL44
If they want to have any chance of bringing Minter back as a free agent they should let him play. If they want Taj Bradley to sign an extension, they should probably try to win the games he pitches by using their best players.
  22. DJL44
So the only reason to use Minter is to try to win baseball games. I think it is a good to set expectations for young players that the team is trying to win baseball games.
  23. DJL44
Ryan Jeffers is a veteran with no future with the team. Should they sit him for the rest of the season and play Alex Jackson?
  24. DJL44
So scholarships for players who haven’t earned playing time?
  25. DJL44
    So sit Minter?
