  1. Jeremy Zoll got the job because he already works for the Twins. They didn't look around and see if anyone better was available. They fired Falvey and promoted the guy Falvey elevated to the GM job. They should absolutely do a search for a new POBO and should probably look for someone with a proven track record rather than hiring an up-and-comer. It is unlikely Tom Pohlad knows how to identify baseball front office talent. Can they afford Brandon Gomes of the Dodgers or would he make less money as the Twins POBO? If not, they might be able to poach Kingston or Slater.
  2. From what I saw, Zebby was great at hitting the corners in 2024 but lacked velocity which meant everything got fouled off. He added velocity in 2025 but started missing the corners, leaving the ball over the plate while also increasing his walks. If he can combine the added velocity with the excellent location he showed earlier he can make it even without adding spin.
  3. 9 deep in the rotation, zero deep at SS and negative two deep in the bullpen.
  4. To really contend they will need the next wave of talent to arrive early.
  5. Bradley is younger than many of the "prospect" pitchers including Connor Prielipp, David Festa and Zebby Matthews. He is basically the same age as Mick Abel. Bradley has had more success (1.7 WAR season in 2024) than most of those pitchers. He's the pitcher who is too young to give up on.
  6. It is truly unfair that the Dodgers are giving players $1.2M contracts to stack their AAA team.
  7. Every team plays the waiver wire game
  8. ESPN put out their Twins top 10 list today Player Overall Previous (org) Trending 1. Walker Jenkins, CF 9 1 2. Eduardo Tait, C 38 2 3. Connor Prielipp, LHP 54 7 4. Kaelen Culpepper, SS 79 9 5. 9. As I said before, the radar gun will tell us what we need to know
  10. Getting old is tough in MLB. The radar gun will tell you all you need to know about whether Ober can bounce back in the rotation this year.
  11. Roden hit about 150 points of OPS higher than Keirsey in AAA (200 points of OPS higher in MLB) and is three years younger.
  12. Nolan McLean has been really good in the minors and Marco Raya has been lousy for three consecutive seasons. They have nothing in common. Prospect status doesn't come just from age. How many lousy seasons in a row does Marco Raya need to have before it's okay to move him to the bullpen? Four or five? Should they wait until 2028 when he's out of options and they're forced to put him on the 26-man roster to try him as a reliever?
  13. The Twins gave Ober 27 starts and 146 innings last year. His fastball is down and so is his effectiveness. He's not cutting it in the rotation. At some point you move ineffective pitchers out of the rotation and into the bullpen.
  14. Larnach for McCullers and Houston pays the $10M for Correa this season. I also like Jose Fleury.
  15. Riley O'Brien for the Cardinals.
  16. That's exactly Festa. 25 games with an ERA over 5. Turns 26 in 2026. Can't stay healthy enough to pitch a full season in the rotation. Matthews has 25 starts with an ERA of 5.92. Also turns 26 in 2026. He's on a short leash. Bailey Ober was bad last season in the rotation and is turning 30. If his fastball doesn't come back, they should expect the same performance as last season. Raya's not going to get a chance to fail as a starter in the big leagues because he can't hack it in the AAA rotation. He hasn't pitched well enough to earn a promotion since A-ball. How much longer do these guys need to fail before the Twins are allowed to move them to the bullpen? How many more seasons?
  17. They will contribute 0 WAR pitching in St. Paul. If they don't have the talent to become a decent reliever, then they'll never be able to hack it as more than a journeyman 5th starter. Those pitchers are a freely available on waivers. How many years do you want Marco Raya to suck as a starter before they try him as a reliever? Personally, I think three lousy seasons is enough.
  18. Clemens might be the best defender in the entire infield. If not Clemens, it's Royce. Buxton is their best hitter. Get him up to bat as much as possible. I wouldn't bat him lower than #2.
  19. They can't keep three catchers on a roster with no shortstop.
  20. Martin doesn't need to spend more time in AAA. He has a .288/.419/.397 line there in 519 PA. Same for Roden - his slash is .320/.411/.505 in 428 PA at AAA. I think either is a good fit for the #9 hitter ahead of Buxton.
  21. I am fine with Matthews and Abel filling the 6th and 7th starter roles. If you get to the 8th pitcher, then you can start looking at minor leaguers with opt-outs and the waiver wire.
  22. If Wallner can become a slightly below average RF that's huge.
  23. They have more value to the team in the bullpen than they have pitching in St. Paul. Top-end relievers get paid as much as #3 starters.
  24. Move one back in July, then. Pitchers can move back and forth between the rotation and the bullpen. Most of these guys have nothing left to learn in AAA.
  25. Adams and Klein get bullpen scholarships. Yuck.
