    You have too much confidence in Houston. If he’s that good, they can make a trade to open a spot later. That’s no reason to make him plan A, B and C.

    I think I would actually prefer a skilled defensive catcher. It is a good spot for them to upgrade their overall defense which has been a problem all season. I would add one of the free agent 2B to the roster (Would Jazz get along with Culpepper?). I would add a couple relievers AND move Ober to the bullpen. If Ober wants to add some years to his career, he should learn how to pitch in relief. I would probably try to trade Joe Ryan before he loses all trade value. OF: Keaschall, Buxton, Jenkins, Roden, Martin, Rodriguez IF: Caratini, new C, Lee, Culpepper, new 2B, Clemens, Lewis, Kreidler (that's 14 position players but someone will be on the injured list or optioned to start the season) SP: Lopez, Bradley, Kremer, Abel, Prielipp (Matthews, Rojas) RP: New RP, New RP, Hoffman, Morris, Banda, Gomez, Ober, Nance (Funderburk, Adams, Acton, Sands, Raya) That payroll looks to be about $95M before adding the C, 2B and two relievers. If Joe Ryan is still around it's only $110M. That means they can pursue one of the top 3 second basemen (Arraez, Jazz, Lowe). They can afford to bring back Jeffers if they want. They can certainly afford to spend $10-$15M on the bullpen.

    Keaschall and Bradley should be at the top of the list of extensions. It would be nice to have both of them until they're 30. Jenkins and Culpepper would be next on the list.

    Why limit it to Twins first round picks? I’m sure there are other first rounders who would love to play a game in the majors. Brady Aiken should be available to pitch an inning in relief.

    Barren would be an acceptable adjective for describing their minor league pitching. If you look at the list of award winners, Randy Dobnak is the 3rd best on the list in the last decade. The Twins have been consistently below expectations at drafting and developing pitching.

    The major league chapter might only be a page long. I have a feeling the Twins will not keep him on the 40 man roster this winter.

    If they already decided to not offer the QO. I agree that wouldn’t make any sense, but it would be a move consistent with playing for 2027. Bringing up Sabato for a couple games against the Giants just to bench him vs Texas and cut him in the offseason doesn’t make sense either but that is probably what we are seeing.

    As expected, his walk rate has plummeted because MLB pitchers are able to challenge him in the zone. He’s not only striking out 35% of the time, he’s swinging and missing 35% of the time. Interesting that his spray chart is all up the middle. He might have more success pulling the ball instead of directing all that power to the deepest part of the ballpark.

    You’re arranging the defenders by their OPS, not by their defensive ability. If you have both players in the lineup, you want Clemens at 2B and Royce at 1B. You can’t stick Royce at SS or C just because he hits like one.

    I think he’s just a privileged dumb jock with a high school education and no life experiences outside of baseball. I watched an HBO documentary about how Olympic athletes struggle when the Olympics end, whether they win or lose. I would not be surprised if Lewis is one of those athletes who struggles with depression when his athletic career ends.

    I don’t understand complaints about his attitude. He is an optimistic hard worker who supports his teammates and loves playing baseball. His problem is how slow he is to adjust. The entire league has the same pitching approach against him. He needs to be able to adjust faster. If you play video games, you figure out that there are certain holes in the game where you can spam the computer opponent with the same move over and over and win every time. That’s what is happening right now to Royce. The league is spamming him with low and away sliders. Like a computer bot, Royce keeps getting himself out. That doesn’t make him a bad person. If I was Royce, I would try to get really good at hitting LHP over the offseason. That would give him a role to build on.

    There is nothing wrong with moving your utility infielder around the diamond. That is the role Lewis has earned. They should be looking for another infield starter and Lewis can start the season in a bench role.

    Rosario and Culpepper are the only possible adds for Rule 5 (unless Mercedes crushes the AFL) and they might add neither. Jeffers, Bell, Minter, Rogers are gone. Lopez, Abel, Festa, Banda, Sands and Paredes have to come back on the roster. That gets them to 42. Gray and Wallner are the cuts to get back to 40. Orze, Larnach, Sabato, Festa, Anderson, Acton, Raya on the bubble.

    No. Casual fans don’t know who any of those guys are. Nobody is buying Twins tickets right now. They have zero attention.

    Larnach is on the injured list. Lewis was listed as day-to-day with a shoulder injury.

    Especially when anyone on the IL can go on the 60-day.

    And apparently did it while giving every day playing time to an injured Larnach and Lewis.

    If he agrees to turn his buyout into a 1 year $1.25M contract, I’m in. Otherwise, no thanks.

    If Larnach and Lewis are both injured and have been playing through injuries for a month with awful results, that says something really bad about Shelton for keeping them in the lineup every day.
