  1. your right demand goes up, but supply goes up even more. Deadline is much further out and the alternatives are immense.
  2. he certainly won't get tendered for next year, will he?
  3. yep Gleeman predicted it last year. Something to the effect of "May has started his last game for the twins"
  4. i guess this is plausible. Do you REALLY think RA had a real shot at getting anything of value for Milone and that being a starter for those two days would have made a difference? Smells like something else happened. Less trade, more personnel/doghouse related
  5. id be tempted to resign Zukes/Option E for one year, but man that's alotta eggs in one Garver basket with no real options behind him.
  6. i don't think Plouffe would clear waivers. He would be a guy someone would claim in the hopes of making a low cost trade, assuming he would be non-tendered in the offseason anyways. A low voltage trade could get you 6-8 weeks of Plouffe and arbitration rights vs a crazy free agency price.
  7. probably, what team doesn't matter. The point is putting Suzuki on waivers has a very low probability for successful trade because of all of the things that the Twins can't control such as waiver priorities.
  8. thanks for the quote. Anyone besides me baffled as to why Milone didn't go to the pen instead of Duffey to begin with?
  9. you are correct, a trade could be had with the team that claims him, but Atlanta could claim just to stop the trade from going forward assuming they will not come to a trade agreement and the Twins will revoke waivers. Suzuki would never be waived being he's at the end of his guaranteed contract. He's more valuable to play the game than for his roster spot to be taken up by who? Murphy?
  10. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/08/twins-to-acquire-hector-santiago-ricky-nolasco-alex-meyer-to-angels.html Holy f&$@
  11. Suzuki isn't passing through waivers unclaimed which makes him most likely to bring a good return of players who are likely to be traded in the next 12 minutes
  12. Suzuki isn't passing through waivers unclaimed which makes him most likely to bring a good return of players who are likely to be traded in the next 12 minutes
  13. thanks for pointing that out. I went to Minnesota grade school and college and choose to live in Wisconsin.
  14. Duffey was in the pen for today's game. Molitor mentioned he would stay there for the time being. What's the corresponding roster move going to be tomorrow? Trade deadline deal for Abad/Milone/Nolasco? Send Duffey to triple A?
  15. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/jonathan-luroy-no-trade-indians-brewers.html Lucroy exercised his no trade. Suzuki could be a much cheaper fall back option
  16. Milone and Nolasco are as likely or more to get traded in August, when fresh injuries crop up but there are fewer trade options available to back fill.
  17. i like your post on SBN. I agree with your moves for the most part. I think I would add to your development point that the organization needs some kind of prospect focus that moves those deemed prospects through the low minors faster so they can get more time in double A and triple A before being called up. Not sure if that's all on the GM or Brad Steil or if it's an additional duty or person.
  18. Zukes has been pretty durable, which helps his trade value. i would keep as many 40 man spots open as possible through August for trades and waiver claims.
  19. the way to sell him on it is to sell him on the bottom line. Statisticians and player evaluators cost a fraction of the salary of a free agent. No team can afford to make the mistakes that the Twins have in the last few years. And if you want a profitable team, it needs to win.
  20. i wouldn't even go that far. Target field is a very new park and not selling enough tickets to be profitable. Someone needed to go and firing the manager didn't boost enough ticket sales.
  21. do you really think starting the search two weeks before the trade deadline helps? If you are serious about interviewing outside the org, how many teams are going to allow AGMs to interview during the season?
  22. correlation does not equal causation
  23. thanks John. Appreciate the transparency. I kind of agree with the stance you took. I wouldn't have made the move Pohlad did, in that I wouldn't have told Ryan he was fired until the end of the season. I would have waited until the last day of the season to do anything, then I would have given him a chance to retire or be fired on the spot.
  24. me too. The couple of times I've had the chance to chat John up at events have been great.
  25. yes, Pohlad has supported Ryan several times this season and inside the last month(I think) where it was already decided Ryan would go. Timing and how was up to Ryan, so Ryan was allowed to fire himself two weeks before the trade deadline.
