  1. I remember the early 80s and the mid 90s to 2001. dark days
  2. I left my post ambiguous on purpose. It could be optimistic that the Twins record in 2026 will be better than 2025. They can’t win 75 this year. it could be sarcasm that I think you’re a Debbie Downer The choice is yours
  3. I very much prefer to watch aggressive base stealing than the plodding station to station.
  4. No, it just didn’t help very much, did it? In the risk vs reward judgement, high risk low reward, usually means it shouldn’t be a strategy to rely on. akin to “my retirement plan is winning the lottery”
  5. No way! TC would totally go feral on the Phanatic. The real question is scoop up the Phanatic bits out of TC’s poop, or mop up the puddle with a bucket
  6. I had a noon meeting too. Even with lunch provided they suck
  7. You don’t empty it at every stop you make?
  8. https://sabr.org/journal/article/pitchers-in-the-field-the-use-of-pitchers-at-other-positions-in-the-major-leagues-1969-2009/ 54 times between ‘69 and ‘09, but Whitey Herzog employed moving a pitcher to Left Field then back to the mound during the ‘87 NLCS
  9. If the Twins were looking to compete in the next 1-2 years, would they have gutted 40% of the roster for Jack-squat?
  10. Provus have a Bremergasm?! Perish the thought!
  11. get him! Get the heretic! I would also add Hatch looks like he could be a decent reliever. what a dumpster fire of a season
  12. They tanked last year, and year before, not eligible for the lotto edit: ninja’d
  13. Desperately searching for a silver lining… Hatch as a reliever looks like a decent major league pitcher. that’s all I got, and it’s pretty pathetic
  14. The roster has changed too. You can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear, but you can make dog chews. Expecting Rocco to call an old school game with players who’ve never played an old school game since little league is a recipe for failure. Swap out some players who have a lower upside but better fundamentals because they were developed outside of the Twins will give any manager a different skill set to work with. all this being said, eff it, blow it all up, this team is a mess.
  15. To your other point and this one, agreed wholeheartedly that Baldelli is a problem but not THE problem. i don’t really understand to what level Baldelli is responsible for organizational player development. Certainly the major league hitters are not developing under his management of the major league staff. Pitchers seem to be, evidenced by Ryan, SWR, and a whole bunch of relievers taking steps forward as major leaguers. he is clearly not a strong tactician, but also hasn’t hired strong tactical bench/pitching coaches. A good business manager knows his strengths and hires lieutenants that have complimentary skills. I hope a new manager might do this, but am fairly certain we’ll get another Baldelli for as long as Falvey is the GM
  16. The Woonsocket Rocket has 6 years of experience as a major league manager. How long should a person do their job before they should be considered “experienced”?
  17. To be fair, their 9 hitter has a better OPS than all but 4 Twins hitter
