  1. I have now officially reached level 5 - and had a discussion yesterday with my 5 year old about how she thinks I should reach number 6, but I'm not convinced anyone would care what I have to say.
  2. welcome! Please keep posting and contributing. I too find Austin batting 9th interesting
  3. We're 4 games in, it's too early to draw conclusions. That said... so far, it's a fun team to watch. Cruz and La Tortuga could be our Morneau and Mauer combo.
  4. I don’t get that sub... giving up on the inside the park hr? Nm injured
  5. I like Morneau, also like Hawkins for color commentary. Marney Gellner did play by play for a couple Spring Training games. I really liked her calls of the games. It would be refreshing to hear Gellner and Hawk or Morneau for a few games.
  6. Props to Cody: What would you do vs what do you think the FO will do with the third catcher on the big league roster? Is there something that can happen besides injury to keep Astudillo and Garner on the big league club in the next two weeks?
  7. with the best rotation in baseball Cleveland can still easily be a 90 win team. One TJ can flush all that down the tubes, however and their lineup is going to stink even after Lindor comes back. If the Twins development machine can pull off some Miracles with Gonsalves, Littell, et al and/or the FO can swing a trade on some pitching, the Twins could absolutely make a run at the division. Cleveland is high at the top end but very shallow on talent and injuries will be very apparent.
  8. was it “their C squad”? Missing Lindor is a big miss. Kipnis, how much does he have left? Major league C squad, sure. Indians B plus. They are doomed to a cruddy lineup unless the FO can swing a trade.
  9. 118 is a bit old to do “it” for the first time.
  10. Eddie Rosario walked? Well wonders never cease!
  11. This. Pitching isn’t there to make a real run at the post season. As it stands a high end starter and a high end reliever could change my mind. Unfortunately July might be too late to get this team over the 95 win threshold. Mid season acquisition requires Cleveland to fall apart for the Twins to win the central with a worse record than the second wildcard.
  12. Unless Gordon has a massive and immediate turn around from last year, Big Toe would come up first.
  13. 95 wins in the AL could also miss the wildcard. NYY, Boston and Houston should win 100 each. If Cleveland can keep it on the rails with no real hitting, they could again be 96-97 wins with the best pitching staff in the AL to win the central. (They are also one TJ surgery away from derailing and the Twins overtaking them) With Baltimore, Seattle, KC, Texas likely to lose 95-100 each and Chicago not much better, Oakland & Tampa could very well end up just like last year and our beloved Twinkies could miss the post season with 95 wins and a Cinderella story. Winners and Losers in the AL, not much parity
  14. please elaborate I agree with JKCarew, Twins will most likely add the 12th and 13th pitch in short succession. When they need a 5th starter, they'll move Perez into the rotation. Perez won't be fully stretched out, so short starts are to be expected (as well with Odorizzi and Pineda) they'll need to back-fill him with two pitchers. I can't imagine Sano is gone too long, but then I thought that with Erv as well.
  15. I’m worried about the bullpen too. Hildy looks toast, I hope Harper is real, but hope is not a strategy, and Rogers is the only guy I really trust in high leverage situations.
  16. until then, why not keep him on a 4th/5th day rotation and throw 4 innings?
  17. whatever gets the job done. You gotta break eggs to make an omelette
  18. I’m sure it’ll play out soon, but with Pineda and Odorizzi being expected to be 5 inning starts, are we going to see the stacker concept with Perez and Mejia?
  19. there’s a fighting chance Astudillo is the third baseman and Marwin is the 4th OF on opening day.
