  1. As much as I don't like trading Varland, like the rest of you. I always thought better to tear it all down and start over. My opinion, relievers are really fickle, get what you can for them, once they start getting expensive, unless you are a contender. We will see how Taj Walker and Mick Abel compete, excited for that. We still have Lopez, Ryan and Ober in the rotation, and will have more options for next year on who can start. Now the fun part should be who will be the new everyday players, tryouts for next year's positions, and reward Peyton Eeles with a call up, as he was undrafted FA just last year. Someone nobody gave a chance to be a major leaguer, and still probably won't be long term.
  2. First time seeing Winokur play. He looks fantastic at 3rd base, very athletic 6'6 kid. If he can show he can hit for any average, he will fun to watch. Looks like he can play anywhere too!!
  3. My wife and I are headed (by car)from Minot, ND to Cedar Rapids to take in 3 games this weekend. I have been there 3 times previously, love the park and Cedar Rapids Kernals have always had good teams. First time I went was in April of 2013 when Buxton (and a few other future Twins) with the Kernals. GO KERNALS AND TWINS!!!!!
  4. The bullpen usage chart doesn't add up. Good win Twins!!!!

  8. I have been following Christian MacLeod since we drafted him. I am assuming, if he didn't have the injuries he would be one of the Top 30 Twins prospects, tall lefthanded, and drafted in the first 5 rounds. I am personally surprised he isn't in the Top 30. He is my darkhorse pick to be up with Twins in the next two plus years, barring more injuries.
  9. While I havnt been able to watch the Twins this year (follow on GameDay) here are a few Contract ideas. What would be your thoughts on these?? Player or team would/should decline accept??!! Ryan Jeffers-4 yrs, $45M (5th yr, $18M CO, $2M BOut) Jose Miranda-5 yrs, $35M (6th yr, $20M CO, $2M BOut) Royce Lewis-6yrs, $70M Trevor Larnach-5 yrs, $31M (6th yr, $15M CO, $1M BOut) Willi Castro-3 yrs, $25M (Buy 2 yrs FA) Chris Paddock-2 yrs, $25 (Buy another 2 yrs FA) Bailey Ober-4 yrs, 32M (Buying 1 yr of FA) Joe Ryan-4 yrs, $45M (Buying 1 yr of FA) Simeon Woods Richardson-8 yrs, $50M (Buying 2 yrs of FA) Happy to explain how I came up with these numbers, if they seem way off. 🙂🙂🙂
  10. A little surprised they didn't use Staumont tonight. Are they planning on using him for more middle to higher leverage situations??? Sands had just pitched two days ago.
  11. Can we sign him to a 15 year, $200M contract already!!!!!
  12. Why, just why......he had been letting them go....but can't get enough of a good thing i guess.
  13. I'm guessing Helman will be more of a utility guy and Julien is a starter type guy. So if both have to be on the 40 man, Julien comes first because of his future production hopes and his age (23 vs 26).
  14. If Julien is ready, maybe a Polanco and/or Kepler off season trade? Move Larnach to right, Kirilloff or Julien in left.
  15. My guess, signed in principal, barring any unforseen problems signing the underslot guys. Probably be the last one announced. I originally thought he would be a $3M sign, now I would guess more in the $2.4-$2.5M range.
  16. I think stand pat. I don't want to trade any of our MLB ready players in a season where we have maybe a 1-5% chance of getting to the World Series. Keep Correa so we can hopefully enjoy a successful season. Make trades in off-season to supplement roster. Keep trying to build a system where we can become competitive year after year, and if you are 1 or 2 players away from a championship, then trade away from surplus you may have to go after a ring.
  17. I think the Twins will try to free up money to sign Prielipp for $3M. May or may not go over the 10 round slot amount penalty. I LOVE THE PICK of Prielipp.
  18. Do we know what either of these 1ST two picks are asking money wise? Will we have to draft lower players the rest of the 1st 10 rounds to make the money work for Prielipp and Lee?
  19. Pick 68 or 114 I would like the Twins to take a flyer on Ben Joyce. He is the relief pitcher that throws (threw) 105 mph for Tennesee, altho never pitch any high leverage situation for them.
  20. Pick 48....... He won't be there but how about Drew Gilbert if he drops? Or catchers Dalton Rushing or Logan Tanner? Or the top LHP on the board?
