    Back injuries are so common, they have excellent techniques to repair. I have had 8 herniated disks, still taught XC skiing, whitewater canoeing, mountain climbing and winter camping. I have had two back operations, but still remember the doctor telling me when I was 17, you will not play sports again. But I did football, basketball, softball and many more. It is a matter of developing muscular support like the essay says.

    I am afraid the FO is too invested in him and want to prove they made a good decision. I do hope he rebounds, but right now I would put Miranda there.

    I can only envision SWR. Everyone else is throwing three innings or less. And if we need another starter it is going to be a really long season.

    True - but even out lineup looks strong compared to them. And Paddock is a major leaguer with a history while their pitcher had a 4,46 minor league era last year.

    Last year he had a 4.46 era in the minors. I am glad we won and I hope that the Twins have a fun playdate with the Sox, but we should win them all and hopefully the positive attitude will carry over against other teams.

    So glad we won. Just cannot make a lot of comments when we are playing the worst team in MLB. We just beat a pitcher with a 7.10 era. It is what we are supposed to do.

    Time for a change - at least SWR for Varland. Who do we have to take Paddock's place? Can we bring up someone to replace Farmer? This is two bad years for Vazquez - what next? Castro may have had a career year last year. Jax had been erratic, Thielbar has been bad, Jackson has not been good. Okert has not been what was advertised. Why is Acala in the minors? The pitching was supposed to be the strength, but too many holes. The hitting is not worth talking about - it has been covered. And we are hoping for wins against the Sox - we were supposed to beat the Tigers too.

    Varland is pressing. SWR needs to come up and Louie needs to go down and have some success and catch his breath. I really want him to succeed, but right now keeping him in the rotation is detrimental to him and the team.

    I am not sure how to judge the organization. I know we have a collective set of losing seasons at all levels. But my biggest head scratcher is why isn't Cossetti one of our top 20 prospects. I have been following him and his progress and I think he will pass Camargo.

    So glad to see Lenny Green mentioned - he is one of the forgotten CFs. Wally Backman brings back other memories.

    Thank you. If Kepler is ready to follow up the end of last year and not the beginning of this year or last year he will contribute a lot. Wallner is a puzzle, but only because I route for Minnesota players. His big swing is good when it connects, but connections have to be more often. Right now I like Kepler, Buxton, Kiriloff as the three OFs. But if Kepler sinks into non-production, Magot is not a regular and maybe Martin is. But we cannot afford both Buxton and Kepler hitting poorly.

    Kepler has not exactly set the league on fire during his rehab - is their reason to belief he will be better when he returns?

    I am joining D C Twins in wondering what they are really doing with Raya. Is he going to be a starter? Does he have some ailment that we don't know? Will his arm fall off if he goes 4 or 5 innings? If he eventually goes down with T.J. will we drop this limitation?

    I have never cared about the velocity of hit balls. In this report Detroit hitting balls that are well below the exit velocity that everyone wants, but guess what. They were hits and thus they won. Won. I still like the old wee Willy keeler statement about hitting him where they ain't. That's still the best strategy.

    Wallner is certainly enjoying his St Paul vacation - if he keeps this up and Kepler shows he still can't climb to the Mendoza Line can we call up Wallner first? Balazovic continues to prove his potential is shot. He is not a major leaguer.

    I am out of my depth on this one. It hurts too much. I keep thinking of Rocco;s Rally killer line, or the launch angle line or the three true outcomes line, but it probably needs the Twins in it so maybe back to the old nickname - The Twinkie Line

    I was moved by the call for fans to spend more so the Twins can spend more or pocket more depending on their mood. So I am moving all my retirement into the Twins account - except that I just found out Correa makes more per game than my retirement fund. Guess I will keep it.

    Rocco and the thumb - pull our Lopez because???? We just had a pitcher (not ours) throw a 112 pitch shutout. It would not happen with the Twins. By the way I think I read on TD that we have the best BP in the majors or close to it - time to revise the rankings. Jax is not a closer - I have nothing more to add there. Julien is not leadoff until he starts to heat up or is he now swinging for the fences? Buxton is not a number 3 or 4 or 5 of 5 hitter. Move him down. I am really discouraged by this game in context with the season so far.

    Sad to see, I do not see Randy in a Twins uniform this year, but if he does it is a total collapse of the MLB rotation. Staumont needs to step up if he is going to save our pen. We can only hope Severino and Rodriguez push out Margo and Santana. I am not confident at all that we are finding the right pitchers and developing them. How does Cleveland keep doing it? Their secret sauce was kept away from our FO team.

    Today Santana has dropped to -0.5 WAR and Margot is -0.3. On a team where Castro is -0.2, Farmer is -0.3 it is hard to see what the FO saw coming into the season. And I hate to say it Nick Gordon (-0.2 WAR) has a 124 OPS+ and 3 HRS. I know it is still early, 10% of the season so far and things can turn around, but how much faith do we have. I know Max Kepler with his -0.4 WAR will come back. We have sent down Wallner and are hoping AAAA Larnach can make the next half step. Buxton is doing great in the field, but his ABs are not what we expect. He has 0.2 Defensive WAR and -0.1 batting. Julien is not what we expect and does not erase Luis Arraez from our memories. Correa and his 0.3 WAR and Lewis are the infusion we need and I hope that Miranda keeps hitting and pushes Santana out (would our FO allow this?).

    It used to be the curving balls were the cause of injury. And kids were told not to throw a curve or one of its equivalents because it was bad for the arm. I do believe we have gone overboard in our quest for speed. Not everyone is a Nolan Ryan or Bob Feller or Walter Johnson. But the blame on the pitch clock is ridiculous. In the 1920s and 1930s the average time for a game was less than two hours! Were the pitchers walking around the mound, staring and using the resin bag and delaying so they would not get injured? To be that fast it was get the ball, throw the ball. Even by the 1980s the games were barely over 2 1/2 hours and some of that was the delay with the advent of more RP. We have always had pitcher injuries - like Bob Grim who won 20 for the Yankees and then had arm trouble. No one had the idea of what to do so they made him a relief pitcher. Mark Fydrich (Big Bird) was a favorite and he went down and we lost a potentially great career. The reason the Tommy John surgery was so important was the fact that we have always been losing pitchers to the various versions of the injury, but until Tommy (who should be in the HOF) we did not have a name or a solution. Gary Nolan, Don Gullett, Dick Radatz, Smoky Joe Wood, Mark Prior and more lost their careers to arm trouble.. https://www.nbcsports.com/mlb/news/the-long-sad-history-of-injured-pitchers This article follows the history of arm trouble - " In 1910, Ford at age 27 came to play for the New York Yankees and he went 26-6 with a 1.65 ERA and 209 strikeouts in 299 2/3 innings.     Is Larnach more than AAAA player? I hope he is but I haven't seen it
