    I am really tired of the Brooks Lee criticism. On this team there is a lot of blame to go around. The young Lee has not been our failed hitter - look to his right - Lewis and consider where he is. Clemens is far less important but seems to be getting more of a pass because we expect so much of Lee. Lee is fourth on the team in hits, he is fifth in HRs, he is second in RBIs, 3rd in BA, fourth is OBP, and fourth in slugging among those with enough ABs to qualify. He is also second in games played - a very important stat for a team that has so many injured. Give him some time and find a different topic for this kind of essay.

    Sit Clemens, sit Lewis, bring up some young players to debut and try to earn a place on the roster. If we are not going to sign Larnach - sit him and bring up Fedko or Jenkins or Gonzales. Replace Julien Try out some more young pitchers in the BP. Ohl may be turning it around, but other than he and Sands who do we project keeping for 2026? Replace any that are going to be replaced after the season. Give this team some interest. We just lost to a losing team with out Ace on the mound.

    Nice to have good news in the minors - I still want a lot of young players coming up to the Twins - I don't need to see the current BP, or Outman or Julien - this should be tryout season in Minneapolis.

    I will stay with Keaschall, then Culpepper, Tait in that order. I am still not sold on Rodriquez no matter how many ratings I see. Please prove me wrong and be a star.

    This is one of the most difficult things to measure - no Analytics for culture. I remember when the Charlie Finley A's were dominating baseball and fighting in the clubhouse - what culture? I remember Billy Martin hitting his own star pitcher and still they won. Is it about friendship, leadership, winning or managing a diverse group of guys and ages? I am less impressed with baseball managers strategy than with their ability to get the team to focus. Does it take a vet? Is that the real value of a Cruz or Thome? Did Correa lead or was he an outlier who played his game but did not have followers? How many coaches does it take to focus the team? Look at the contrasts in successful managers - Cash and Murphy - opposite analytic extremes, Did Craig Counsell lose his way when he left WI and moved to Chicago? Was Casey Stengal a genius with the Yankees and a buffoon with the Mets? It takes players and leadership in the clubhouse, it also takes some managerial smarts. Old Casey was a good example. He was not a genius with the Yankees, but he got them to play and play well together. With the Mets he knew he could not win, but he let his players enjoy their moments in the sun. Unfortunately I do not know what Baldelli is doing and I cannot judge him and his staff. But Correa at least gives us something to talk about.

    Good review of the position. But what are the odds they make it in MLB. Catching is one tough position and I can only hope we have a catcher here that will fit in behind Jeffers so we do not have to sign another Vasquez type nor keep Gaspar as catcher.

    Time for Abel to be in Minneapolis. No use using pitchers we do not believe in for the future.

    Good write up. It reminds me of the amazing mets - if you have no chance at least have a laugh or two.

    I wanted to see the new players - this was not the one I was thinking of.

    Why wait - bring up the first wave now - are we expecting the current team to accomplish anything?

    He has already accumulated 0.2 WAR with Jays (1.3 with the Twins). He has pitched 7 games for them. 2.57 era, 1.000 WHIP. Looks good to me.

    When looking at Outman and Roden stats remember how well Gaspar hit in the minors - I am afraid it is not the test we think it should be.

    Time for a deep breathe. Good article, but it should be the last. Look at the team, the prospects, ignore, don't listen, watch, attend - whatever you feel. But all of us have had enough time to swallow hard and move on with our lives. The Pohlad hate translating to the team is sad - thank you Buxton for wanting to be here. Congratulations to our hometown boy Varland for winning last night. I do feel sorry for the vendors. The Pohlads can absorb a lot more than their current stated losses, but can the vendors who expected Target field to be a place of joy and celebration?

    I would still love to see some of the better prospects given a long look in Minneapolis. We need something to help us forget the Pohlads.

    Bring up the real prospects - Adams and Ohl are really lost up here. Give them one inning jobs and give us the pitchers we traded for - let's at least get a look at the future.

    Our world is in a place where the truth no longer matters - just keep saying the same thing until people believe it. We do have a vote - buying tickets, but if we give them reason to leave we are the only ones who will lose. What a terrible outcome this is.

    The third and worst case is to continue to be middle of the road, continue to flirt with 500. Watch players like Ober pass their peak, hold on to Larnach, Julien, Martin, Clemens, Gaspar, Roden and believe in the BP that we currently have.

    This article does not have any actual basis but is indicative of how unsettled we all are now that the Pohlads have established themselves as long term viruses for the Twins and community.

    I will take pleasure in his wins. Like I posted in another response - in 1972 the Phillies won 59 games, Steve Carlton won 27. Those wins have extra meaning for me.

    He should - I think he is already in the discussion. It reminds me of Steve Carlton who won 27 games for the Philadelphia Phillies team that finished the season with only 59 wins.

    I know most of you hate WINS, but Joe is 12 - 5 a team that is 57 - 63. Wins do matter and they reflect his quality. It means pitching at least 5 innings, taking the mound regularly and not letting the other team dictate the game. I love it. He is number three in wins behind Crochet and Peralta! Tied with Rodon, Pfaat, and Pivetta. Keep going Joe!

    Yes stability means predictability which means boring! Sorry this is too soon to try to make something positive out of our disappointment.
