  1. There is nothing left to say. So I will say nothing.
  2. The sad part of this loss is a fact that we're going to have to listen or read speculation about trades until this deadline finally ends. Fact is no one knows what this front office or ownership group will do or wants to do.
  3. What a sad day. This was pathetic again. We play Colorado and Washington and can't win a series. When Lee, Lewis, and wallner were due up in the 9th inning My first thought was these are the three prospects we have been expecting to rise up and lift the team to new heights. So much for that thought. Then there's a question about Adams. When we added him to the 40 man a long time ago my first question was who is he and now that I've seen him come up a few times My question is who is he and why is he on the 40 man. Shouldn't we look at some of the other high-end prospects and see what they can do.? I'm trying to picture what I see as the next iteration of twins. And I'd like to see it soon. Buxton, bader, and Walker in the outfield. Keaschall, Lewis, Lee and Jeffers. Rodriguez and Gonzales at first and DH. Jeffers catching. That is the best I can picture now but SS should be Culpeper soon.
  4. I guess Ryan is not the savior! Now what. This is really pathetic and unfortunately your readers have run out of things to say.
  5. The offense was offensive as we have seen all year, but maybe Zebby has turned the corner. I have been a fan of his through his minor league ride and I think this is the pitcher we want behind Lopez and Ryan.
  6. The assessment of players is a difficult task - Look at the TD prospect rankings over the last ten years and how well we all picked the stars. Do we draft well? I have no idea but the TD articles seem to suggest we do. When we got Correa much of our comments were excitement - we finally got the big one. Yup = that has not worked out. So Management and coaches, front office - cosmic rays and aurora borealis - I have no idea, but I would like to see some efforts made that suggest we are addressing the problems.
  7. Maybe we have too many coaches. Too many voices and the players don't seem to hear any of it or they can't adjust. It is discouraging but perhaps we also overestimate what we have. Which leads to the question for the rest of this year and the future are we in limbo until I no ownership comes in?
  8. Luke Keaschall If the start in MLB was not a fluke - he is ready to contribute and we need him.Walker Jenkins Can he stay healthy? He has the talent, but we have had too many IL specialists over the years. Kaelen Culpepper He is really looking good - high hopes or too high hopes?Dasan Hill Could he be our Skenes? Love to see him prosper quicklyCharlee Soto He is living up to expectations this year.Connor Prielipp He has the talent if he stays healthyMarek Houston We have to hope that he lives up to expectations. Gabriel Gonzalez Nice rebound year - he is ready to moveEmmanuel Rodriguez Disappointing. I do not hold him in the same regard as mostMarco RayaKhadim Diaw We need a good catcher prospect - this might be the answerRiley QuickPayton EelesKyle DeBargeCJ CulpepperBilly AmickRicardo OlivarBrandon WinokurQuentin YoungEduardo Beltre
  9. I went to the cedar rapids game and it was really boring. Pulling our starting pitcher after three endings didn't make any sense. The relief pictures to followed don't have anything that looked major league and their arsenals. What I was hoping would happen was to see Winukor look like the prospect we've rated but seeing him a shortstop left me with the feeling that he could never make it there in the majors. He looked awkward, his reactions were slow and I saw none of the grace that I would expect in a shortstop prospect. On the other hand our third baseman look like he had the glove and reactions to hold down that position.
  10. I have to join the commenters and advise that we slow down the criticism. I think it was Kelly who said we had to see a thousand at bats to really judge a player.
  11. I remember teams like the Mets and Indians who won because of pitching. I hold on to the quality pitchers, find some key hitters to make the lineup better, hold on to Bader and his defense - I am a believer in good defense and promote every prospect until we get a team we like. I am not ready to gut the team, but I would certainly recommend some strategic surgery.
  12. I will be at the Kernels game on Tuesday - suggest what I should be looking at!
  13. We need Joe Ryan - please no more posts suggesting him as a trade candidate.
  14. We have had players return from injuries every year. When did it make a positive difference to the teams record at the end of the season.
  15. This is a really tough decision - I like Bader and Castro and think they have really been positives on a team of negatives. Lee and Lewis are massive disappointments based on their draft positions and expectations. What we cannot know is if Keaschall comes back to what we saw - remember Lewis also had a great beginning that was derailed by injury. Larnach is at a plateau - is it high enough to keep him? I am not a believer. Wallner showed promise and like the other comparisons has been derailed by injury. Can we count on him? Should he be a DH? How soon can Walker get here? I am not a believer in Emma - too many injuries and not enough performance for me. So who else is ready for the OF? Gonzales? Will they give Eeles a chance? Can they stop putting in Vasquez every other game? Is Clemens the new 1B and can he be good enough? I am not a believer in Miranda or Julien any more. Miranda is batting 194 in AAA and has a 558 OPS. Julien has an 845 OPS so he has a chance.
  16. Nice historic perspective - it is always easy to look at a current player and elevate him above past players who have dimmed in our memory. I think you did a good job of answering your own questions - and I agree with the following:
  17. We no longer need the comedic columns - the Twins provide enough on the field. At least Minnesota Nice prevailed and we are trying to help the Rockies from the worst record in history so our friends in Chicago can retain that distinction.
  18. With Vasquez going and no viable minor league option I cannot envision them trading Jeffers. I think Ryan is also untouchable. None of the young arms look good enough to replace him and Ober has to prove he can pitch again. I think the core needs Ryan with Lopez for the future. Beyond that we have reached a point of no return and we need to move on.
  19. One good thing about Western games - it is easy to turn them off and get some sleep or a drink or both.
  20. I guess the team decided to be proactive - no questions - just sell and start over. The suspense is gone
  21. SP would pace themselves when they expected to go nine - now they are like RP that throw max as long as they can and then it is the pen. I do not see anything from Paddack that shows me he has the extra MPH for short bursts
  22. It is sad to see him struggle like this and it has taken away the hope he gave us when he first became a Twin, but if we put this in another context, what is happening with the Twins coaches? We have almost a coach for each player, yet Correa is struggling and causing us to wonder what his final years on the contract will be. We have Wallner who looked so good he was going to lead off and now we question our judgment. Larnach has stagnated, Lee does not look like the wonderkid we anticipated. Vasquez has spiraled down to the bottom of the barrel, Articles question France's value and Clemens is streaky and offers promise without follow through. What is the reason this lineup has fallen so far below expectations? Without Buxton, Castro and Bader all preseason expectations have been shattered.
  23. I had to double check my observations and see that he has a 6.75 era for the first inning so far this season - if he is a RP that is the only inning he pitches. Not a solution.
  24. I thought I would bring up Rooker just because mentioning his name gets one of the regular posters upset. But the only reason I bring him up is to bring up McCusker. Like Rooker if he has any chance to make the next jump start putting him at 1B of DH and give him at least two series of starts to get established. Let's hope Ober can move quickly to his past form and replace Paddack in the rotation. And even more important we need Keaschall back like he was. On MLB.com the former GMs were talking about the Twins and one recommended trading Royce Lewis to get good prospects. He likes Lewis but thinks the Twins are too fragile and need consistency. If Lewis goes, Lee to 3B and Keaschall to 2B sounds good right now.
  25. If that was the showcase game where we let all the suitors know how great he could be before we trade him, we just went down to DSL league for the prospect.
