    We are running out of things to say about this year. My only thoughts are that Gonzales going down for Martin made no sense to me. And I am really curious about your thoughts about 2027 Catcher as well as 1B.

    I look at yesterday's comments and wonder if we win tomorrow will they be that positive again? This team is just not good. Keeping Ryan has only reduced his trade value but do we keep starting him? I would. Detroit has now caught us. It is not about catching the teams ahead of us - it is about not letting the other teams pass us. Not long ago we were ahead of the three teams that are now above us on the list. Frustrating.

    At this point both need to play everyday - that is what the remainder of the season is all about for us non-believers.

    Sorry to see Ross go down as well as Gonzales. I am not one holding out hope for WC and want to see possibilities for 2027.

    This is the Twins mantra - we had injuries - but so did a lot of other teams - the Yankees lost Aaron Judge! Check out this Rotowire where we are tied with the Cubs for ninth among all MLB teams and they kept winning. We are third in our own division! Tampa Bay and the Dodgers have had more key injuries - where do they stand.

    For the entire system, only the Saints were above 500. I know it is minor leagues, but winning is supposed to be contagious. Not happy to see Gonzales back down - I want the young guys to play.

    I am sorry to have to add Caratini - but someone has to catch. And what about Pablo? I suspect Morris is a sure keeper too.

    Why would you fire him. I need a really good explanation or it is just looking for a scapegoat.

    Royce Lewis - last 30 games = 231/272/342. Last 15 211/246/298 despite this last week being fairly good. Is he really our 1B going forward?

    My problem is that there were no reports. He might not have signed one, but I never heard that they tried. This team is not good at extensions.

    I see no alternative to the qualifying offer. There has been really poor planning - do you want Caratini and Jackson to be your duo? I don't. With the excitement about Lackey keeping Jeffers for one more year might be the bridge to having him step in, but if we are serious about next year Jeffers has to be in the lineup. The extension that could have been done in past years is not possible anymore - that is on the FO.

    It's time to stop with the attaboys. Showing Spirit. Having a good effort, trying really hard, just doesn't matter. Either we win or we lose. If we've given up on our potential for wild card. I guess we can continue to to just pat people on their backs

    I love the defense of Lee - I happen to agree with the comments. I think we all regret the FO missing out on Jeffers - to extend or trade. He is going to do well in the FA frenzy. I think that Tom talk big Pohlad might want to push the QA on him. If he takes it we have a good catcher for another year and another option to trade him. If not we get something. Lewis and Lee always seemed like a package - I am much lower on Lewis. In this era where the BP must pitch multiple innings everyday it is inevitable that there will be some blow ups with an average pen like ours. It is happening elsewhere as well. Morris has been pushed to the limit with a 9.82 era over his last seven games. There is my lowlight. Larnach was another miss - I know they almost traded him to Houston - his post all-star performance matches past seasons and makes his first half a mirage. Last 30 games 170/235/298. Another big lowlight. Not forcing Buxton on to IL and opening roster to Rodriguez is another mistake by leadership.

    Still six games out in the division and 3.5 in WC. Possible, but only 20 games left. The WC at 3.5 games behind is also still a possibility but having four teams to pass makes it much more difficult. Last night was impressive because Taj did not have his best stuff and the BP and batters took charge. Culpepper really looks good, he needs to have a conversation with Jenkins.

    Too many prospects on your do not trade list. You have to give up something of quality if you want quality back.

    I agree with PuckettPond - we are in desperate need of quality pitching in the minors. We have drained the pond and the Saints cannot hit enough HRs to overcome this. The pipeline is broken. I look forward to seeing this fixed. The Twins need to have reinforcements ready.

    Thanks for the perspective. From what I read on TD it seems as if Lackey will get a quick bump to Wind Surge and I wonder if Diaw won't be a Saint so he would be in position for a quick promotion.

    Thanks for bringing in Tinney. I see his bat being great but have been prejudiced by articles criticizing his catching skills.

    I have not believed in the wild card for the last two weeks. We are missing something. And I hope we are not stuck in that almost good rut with poor draft position and lacking the kind of fire power that the Sox seems to have amassed. I wonder where the next real catcher comes from and if our injured pitchers really promise to come back and lead us to the promised land. Walker surprises me with his struggles, but he has to keep playing to get through them. I keep hoping for a Willie Mays kind of revelation - SABR has this biographical note on Willie - "If you begin your National League career going hitless in three road games, you may as well go for broke and swing mightily early in your first home game. That’s what Willie Mays did against the Boston Braves." So let Jenkins swing for that first hard contact and get on a roll for next year.

    What is our catching depth chart like with the minors included? Jeffers we all assume will be gone. Caratini seems to be the anointed one. Jackson second. But that is not very exciting so from the standpoint of next in line - not who has the most upside how do you rank these catchers? Lackey - Tait - Diaw - Cossetti - Cardenas - Banuelas - Ruiz - Jiminez? If we have an emergency in 2027 who gets called up?

    I am not an innings counter. I think the important thing is to observe fatigue and pull the pitcher when they are physically drained, but that does not preclude the exotic COMPLETE GAME!

    If Shelton were not in his first year with the team I might have given him a little more blame - but regardless he can only use the players on his roster.
