  1. Tristan Gray: The Hitter Orlando Arcia: The Veteran Ryan Kriedler: The Glove Kaalen Culpepper: The Prospect If they aren't going to give it to Culpepper, I think Arcia is the choice because of his glove and veteran presence.
  2. I don't think it is ever a good idea to underestimate the Guardians because they always seem to finish above projections, but they definitely seem to have taken a step back this year. I am impressed by the lineup, but it is hard to be optimistic about a team that has a rotation with Allen, Cecconi, and Cantillo in it. The Royals and Tigers are easily the top two teams in the Central right now.
  3. As much as I love to hate on the White Sox, they definitely had a much more productive offseason than the Twins this year. I think they are probably a two years away from being real contenders, but there are definitely some interesting pieces. If nothing else, they should improve on last season. I could definitely see them winning 70-75 games.
  4. I don't know if Zebby lost his spot, so much as Abel might have taken it away from him. Credits to Abel, he has has a great spring. I was in on Zebby heading into Spring, and nothing I've seen has really done anything to change my long-term outlook of him. Granted, Abel has pitched a lot better, and is definitely deserving of the spot over Matthews on Opening Day.
  5. Eddie Rosario, Christian Vazquez, and Willi Castro are all contributing offensively for Puerto Rico versus Italy in the WBC Quarterfinals.
  6. Liam Hendricks has had a decent spring. He's not pitching great right now, but as a righty he has a decent chance of making the Opening Day Roster.
  7. Edouard Julien playing today for Canada versus the U.S. "Edouard Julien, are you gonna rule again?"
  8. If Jenkins gets healthy and stays healthy this season, I could definitely see him being in the ROY discussion. Because he will likely start the season on the IL, and play in AAA after that, I don't see him winning it, but if he goes 15-15 in 115 games and plays good outfield defense could finish top 5. 2026 is an important year in his development. If two of him, Gonzalez, and Rodriguez could work out, that would be a big win.
  9. Over the last couple of seasons, Bailey Ober has had significantly to many starts where he only went 4-5 innings because he was inefficient. Ober's start versus the Red Sox was very similiar to that. He went 2 2/3 with just one run, but he allowed 7 baserunner and threw 53 pitches. I would love to see Ober get back some of his old 2024 form, but at this point I don't think it is likely. He will probably get a pretty long leash this season, but if he keeps struggling, he might get forced out of the rotation after this season. At this point, his ceiling seems pretty low. I also have very little concern for Joe Ryan. Some of the stuff problems in his first start could be tied to still recovering from a back injury, and he still managed to be effective even if the underlying numbers didn't back it up,
  10. Italy up 9-1 in 8th. U.S. will advance past pool play.
  11. P-C-A with his second blast of the game; 8-6 Italy
  12. Big Enrique Jiminez fan. I think he has the upside to move into some top 100 prospect lists this season. With Tait, Jiminez, and Diaw, the Twins have a lot of upside on the way at Catcher.
  13. If the U.S. loses and Mexico beats Italy, there's a chance the U.S. doesn't even advance with the three way tie.
  14. Technically still a Twin, but Dan Altavilla is taking the mound for Italy in the WBC in the 5th with Italy up 5-0 verus the U.S.A.
  15. This isn't exactly spring games, but I don't see a WBC thread anywhere, and the U.S.A. is currently down 5-0 in the 4th to Italy. They need Joe Ryan's peformance today over there, not with the Twins.
  16. Yeah, that's my mistake. I just glanced over the 2019 starting rotation and saw Perez, Gibson, and Pineda in it, and assumed that it was a bad pitching year.
  17. I think he likely would be playing his way onto the roster if it wasn't that the one guy he's mainly competing against (Alen Roden) is having an even better spring than Outman is. It is nice to see both of them having good springs. I still don't understand why Trevor Larnach is still on the team. At this point I might take both Roden and Outman straight up over him (defensively at least) and Larnach is getting paid a lot more than either one of them.
  18. I left when it was 8-0 and I obviously missed out on an offensive outburst (eventually). Nice to see Morris have some good inning from the pen. The Twins looked like the 2019 bomba squad (all homers, no pitching) out there. Great to see Royce knock one out. I am really excited to see if Gabriel Gonzalez would be able to contribute at the major league level. As someone who really only started following him last season, all I have seen him do is mash at every level he's been at. I think he will likely be up before the all-star break, and hopefully will take the opportunity and run with it.
  19. Remember when Zebby first got called up, and he would never throw anything out of the zone, and now he can't throw anything in the zone.
  20. Braves announcer's commentary 1. Olson is the 9th batter to come up since the second out was recorded 2. 52 pitches for the Twins pitchers in this inning
  21. As a Zebby optimist heading into the year, I am still cautiously excited about his future, but the case for Abel over Matthews for the fifth rotation spot on opening day is growing stronger and stronger by the day.
