I have to say that I hate the idea of a bullpen game in the playoffs. It just seems like there is too much margin for error. Let your starter start and have a quick hook if you must, but you can't count on having 7 or 8 different relievers all performing on the same day.

Agree. I think you give Royce one more year in a lesser role and maybe bring in a free agent 1st baseman as a back-up plan. He did show some potential this year at 1st base and going 15-15 is nothing to be ashamed of. It is really sad, though to see someone who we thought was going to be the guy leading the Twins to championships struggling so much. -

Alen Roden hitting .291 this season. HE might get a shot next year, but it is a very crowded outfield for the Twins.

I don't think Gomez is likely to ever be a 8th or 9th inning guy again, but I could definitely see him being a 7th or 6th inning guy. My guess is that Andrew Morris just got worn out over the long season and there is still upside to unlock there. Assuming Hoffman is healthy, I would put him in the closer role to start 2027.

Guardians up 4-3 right now thanks to Royals bad fielding. There was the rare Bobby Witt error, two balls that should have been caught by the right fielder and one that could have been caught by the left fielder. White Sox down 3-0 to Rockies.

Twins have now slipped to 11th in the draft lottery and would no longer have much of a shot at the first overall pick, but you know what? I don't think I care. I love winning and this was a really fun one tonight. So even though it doesn't matter, let's sweep the Rangers, play spoiler and end the year on a high note heading into a exciting 2027 season*. *Lockout Pending

Martin Perez to IL with lower back inflammation. He had pitched really well this season and was likely going to factor into the Braves playoff rotation. -

Really nice to see Taj finish a very strong season on a high note. 205 strikeouts is nothing to sneeze at. By strikeouts alone, he is a top 10 starter in baseball. I think the Twins definitely won that trade. The young guys were the ones who were contributing offensively today for the Twins. Jenkins, Keaschall, and Lee are three of the cornerstones of this offense for next year and they all drove in runs today. Brooks Lee is making that statline look pretty good and is riding a 7 game hit streak with Jenkins on a 6 game one as well.

I know Hoffman was not good today, but looking at that strikeout to end the game. Wow! That slider is nasty. The stuff is amazing if he can control it.

I think ideally the Twins bring in a 1st baseman this offseason and Royce begins the year in a utility role with the opportunity to gain more at-bats if he performs.
