Sure, like I said, case by case basis. Assigning one guy to only pitch in the 9th inning is nonsensical and arbitrary. You need to get 27 outs to win a game. I think the new staff is smart enough not to assign those outs before they know the context of them. The only surprising part to me is that it took this long for coaching staffs to realize it. Again, quite often the best use of Kimbrel will be the 9th inning, that's fine. But if Kimbrel insists on being locked in to a rigid "closer" role, then I say thanks but no thanks.

The OP wanted to dump him based on a smaller sample size. And, I'm not looking for Sano to slap singles through the infield. His batting average is practically meaningless to me. His OPS was something like .865 when OP started this thread.

This thread baffles me. The guy is OPS'ing .986, and someone wants him sent down because they think Adrianza is more valuable. Nobody can be expected to hit better than that, so I guess there is just nothing he can do that will be good enough.

Alex Kirilloff was also raised by a hitting coach. It's reasonable to expect that Kirilloff started the process with a more finely tuned swing than Lewis did. If Lewis continues to struggle like this all year, I'll start to worry. I expect he's going through an adjustment period right now, and will catch fire sometime in the second half of the season.

Correct on that last sentence. My sister in law got her dog certified, even though she doesn't need it, so that her landlord couldn't evict her from her pet free building. She's always been an entitled brat, and even laughs and brags about it at family functions. I tried to gently question her on what you bring up in your post, "do you feel that is disrespectful and counterproductive towards those that legitimately need support animals?" Her response was every excuse in the book. "My landlord is a jerk, so who cares... My dog is well behaved, so there is no harm... It's too much of a burden to move... etc,etc.

I want guys used where they can be most valuable on a case by case basis. I'm sure that will often be the 9th inning for Kimbrel, but often times he'd be more valuable coming in earlier. If Kimbrel cares more about his personal counting stats more than the team, then I have zero interest in him.

Not sure if it's logistically possible, but perhaps for common flight routes it would be. Would designating certain flights as support pet friendly work? Those who are allergic, uncomfortable, or otherwise just don't want to fly with pets have flights that are strictly pet free. Those who want/need them have an option, and those who don't care either way can take either.

Trump's favorability rating on the night of the 2016 election ranged from 33-43%. Trump doesn't need favorability or approval to win, he proved that 3 years ago. Trump is a heavy favorite to win reelection, right now. That can, and hopefully will change. But, I'm seeing the same kind of naive complacency that I saw in 2016. Shall we bump that thread? 90% of the posters in that thread didn't believe Trump had a realistic chance to win.

My wife wanted to watch this, and I'm so glad we did. Just finished seasons 1 and 2, it's masterful. It's delightful, and funny and I love the masterful job they did making it feel like the late 50's. Although I wasn't alive then, so I guess I wouldn't know how authentic it is in that regard. Brosnahan is incredible. I think I'm legitimately in love with her character, if that's possible. Tony Shaloub is perfectly cast, and steals many scenes. Alex Borstein is awesome in this. I highly recommend this to everyone. At first glance it may not look like your type of show. That was my mistake the many times I scrolled past it. The first few episodes, while good, everyone seems to be getting a feel for their characters. But, as Mrs. Maisel gains confidence in the show, so too do the actors and writers, and by the end of season 2 it's television at it's finest. I honestly can't believe how much I love this show, I find myself daydreaming about the characters throughout the day, which is the hallmark of truly great art. Go see it.

I believe minor leaguers are paid on a scale set by MLB league office. I don't think a team can deviate from those set wages until a player becomes a milb free agent.

On the topic of the opening photo, I got the privilege of watching the USAF Thunderbirds perform in Duluth last year. It was conclusively breathtaking. They are absolute rock stars, and I'd recommend everyone put it on their bucket list.

Mike Trout has a 158 sOPS+ in May (.972 OPS). So those numbers for May that you post are not "average", they are exactly 58% better than league average for the same time period.

This team doesn't have a getaway lineup, IMO. It almost feels dirty, how deep this roster is, offensively. I've never seen anything like it in this town. Even when we've had relatively good offenses in the past, they were always top heavy. Remembering lineups that included guys like Drew Butera, and Matt Tolbert batting second seem like a bad dream now. I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts, whether that's 10 days or 10 years.

MLB decided they want a popularity contest, not a true all star game. Therefore, by definition there are no snubs. I would prefer a true all star game, but that is probably never coming back.

I shudder at the thought of speculation and generalization on an internet fan forum.
