    Well my liberal, millennial cousin did 3 tours in Iraq removing IED's, and came home with pretty severe PTSD. What an ungrateful kid. Man this place can be embarrassing sometimes.

    Aaron Judge played 71 MORE games in the minors before his debut than Byron Buxton did. And Judge was a college draft pick, Buxton a HS draft pick. Brent Rooker made it to AA 7 games FASTER than Judge did.

    Cody, as a staff writer, I wish you would stop posting that the Twins declined to send Buxton on a rehab assignment. He only had 2 days remaining on his rehab eligibility (from the migraines). Per MLB rules, a player must be activated after their 20 (30 for pitchers) day rehab eligibility has passed, even if they suffer a new injury, or recurrence of the original injury. Once activated, they must miss 5 or more games (7 for pitchers), while ON the 25 man roster, AND get special approval from the commissioner's office before they can return to the disabled list. EDIT: Upon reading the rule again, it appears I was wrong. I think they just have to be recalled from their rehab assignment, and remain inactive ( but not on the 25 man roster as I previously thought) for 5 days before resuming their rehab assignment. Sorry, and carry on.

    It's not about money. In a final ARB year, a good player is going to get paid. It's about having him on the team. You don't get to just choose to pay a player. They become a free agent, they can go anywhere. Service time rules are collectively bargained. This isn't an example of owners imposing their will on helpless players. There are plenty of examples of that without making something that isn't into one of them.

    Which publications had all those players projected as all stars? Certainly not any that I saw. I'd have been shocked to see a publication projecting anyone in our rotation, except maybe Berrios, as an all star. Most places had them projected as a roughly .500 team, give or take, so they are roughly right as projected.

    ESPN reporting that Ervin Santana has been shut down, and sent to see a specialist. I never believed the club for a second when they said May 1st return, that was borderline preposterous, IMO. I also haven't thought he'd ever be the same again after the surgery, certainly not this season. Anyone rethinking their expectations from Santana at this point?

    I don't think anyone is saying it's a negative thing. But it's definitely a subjective measurement, that is hard to measure. Coupled with the fact that you can never truly know for sure what kind of person someone is.

    Yeah, the Twins get a full extra season in his prime, at the expense of 2 less starts his rookie season. It's a no brainer.

    The Twins are 22-27 by baseruns, exactly the same as their record. Their record doesn't appear to be caused by luck, either way.

    We don't know that until/unless they spend that money though. Both sides are speculating

    And there is also more value with that pick than just the amount of WAR he would or would not produce. He could become a prospect that has trade value (like Palacios), or they could use that slot value to go over on a different pick.

    Romero isn't up because of injuries. Santana was out long before the season started. There have been no other injuries to the starting rotation. Romero was clearly their first option to come up if Hughes struggled in the 5th starter role, which he did. If the front office wanted Romero to still be in AAA, he'd still be in AAA. They could have called up Mejia or Slegers if they wanted to keep Romero down.

    Gordon must be added this offseason, or he will be eligible for the Rule 5 draft.

    Most of the time, it doesn't go to arbitration. And even if it does, the arbitration panel has to pick one of the submitted numbers.

    If Rogers goes down, another lefty would take his spot. I can't see them rolling with only one lefty in the pen.

    I think he was saying they'd be solo shots because the Twins aren't getting anyone on base.

    He gets paid the same either way. If the Twins save their option, May could theoretically spend all of next year in the minors as well. If he's going down either way, I'm sure he'd rather ensure that it's only the one time, by forcing the team to use his last option.

    Great game by Lynn, but he needs to follow it up with another good start against KC.

    There is only wiggle room if the player plays along. In May's case, he has an option left. He's not going to go along with a DL manipulation, just to save the team an option year.
