They can't afford another 20 million dollar salary. If Miranda continues to hit like he is, then he might be our long term fit at 1b. If they somehow do decide to buy at the deadline, I'd like to see a top tier starter and one or two solid bullpen arms.

Nice to see our prospects healthy and producing now. I say give Keirsey Jr his much deserved shot in the bigs. This will also open up everyday playing time at AAA for E-Rod.

I think once everyone's healthy we swap Julien for Lee. Margot for Keirsey Jr with E-Rod sent to AAA waiting for his shot if Keirsey doesn't show much. Miranda could play 1b once Lewis comes back and takes over 3b.

While not a top prospect because he's a bit older, I say Keirsey Jr!

Joe Ryan Emerging as the Pitcher Minnesota Needed
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Twins still need another top tier starter if they hope to win a playoff series this year. It's good to see Ryan doing well but he looked this good last year too, and then the second half happened.- 25 replies

Keirsey deserves a shot. Replace him with AK or Larnach short term and see what happens. Also move E-Rod up to AAA, he's got nothing left to prove at Wichita.

Julien definitely needs a reset at AAA. We could cover 2nd in the short term with Farmer and Castro. Might even be a way to get Miranda more consistent at bats if he can still play second. Long term, Lee should be back up in AAA soon. Will be interesting to see how he handles AAA pitching this year. He's looked great in a tiny sample since coming off the IL.

Sure is nice to have most of our top prospects both healthy and producing again. Festa could get a call up later this year if he keeps this up:)

What’s Left For Emmanuel Rodriguez at Wichita?
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Larnach will be optioned when Lewis comes back. This won't happen but after that they should DFAd Margot, call up Keirsey to the majors and move E-Rod to AAA to see what he can do. There is no reason to stick with Margot just because he hits right handed.- 49 replies

I think the abs is needed. The challenge system will only slow the game down, why not just get it right the first time?

Great to see Jenkins and Lee playing and producing again. Now let's see how Lee looks in AAA. I think E-Rod deserves a promotion there too.

A Q&A with Tangy the Rally Sausage
LambchoP replied to RandBalls Stu's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I can't believe they've kept the same sausage this whole time. Hey whatever gets us wins:) -
I think ERod needs to be tested at AAA and Jenkins and Lee just both need at bats to catch back up after missing so much of the season. Let's see where we're at at the trade deadline.

Welcome to the Correaissance
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sure he's an excellent defender. But is he worth 30 million plus per year to a team cutting costs? I mean he's on pace for what, 265 BA and 15hr? That is good, but elite? I'm not so sure. Either way, the Twins do need him to lead this team along with Lewis. With occasional help from Buxton. -
What Should Happen to Miranda When Lewis Comes Back?
LambchoP commented on LA Vikes Fan's blog entry in LA Vikes Fan
Best move would be to start Miranda at 1b and play him at 2b against lefties. Send Kiriloff down for a AAA reset if they won't drop Margot. -
I still say Alcala and Keirsey Jr should be in the majors. If Varland struggles continue as a starter, we should use him in the bullpen like we did late last year, at least we'd be getting some value out of him and his stuff played way up in shorter stints.

The Twins Need to Sort Out Their 60/60/42 Problem
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yes, this exactly. Ease off the platoon crap, play your hottest hitters. I think calling up Keirsey to replace Kiriloff or better yet Margot could help the lineup. As for the bullpen I think it would be beneficial to call up Alcala and Varland. That would be a pretty solid bullpen especially when Stewart comes back.- 37 replies

It would also help the teams offense if Kepler didn't have to sit 3 days a week just because he's a lefty. Starting Margot or Vazquez over better players just because Roccos obsessed with platoon advantage sucks. It obviously doesn't work, just put your hottest hitters out there regardless of the opposing pitcher. Hate to say it but Vasquez, Margot and Farmer would be DFAd by now on a competitive team.

The Twins Relief Pipeline Has Become Too Predictable
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I also do not understand the treatment or usage of Alcala. He could be a real good one inning high octane guy, but Rocco uses him to throw 50 pitches in multi inning mop up roles? Wtf? Also, Theilbar does looked cooked at this point and Okert doesn't inspire confidence either. Funderburk might be the best lefty on the team. I think it's time to call up Varland and stick him in the pen like last year. Varland Alcala and Stewart seems like a solid set up group.- 47 replies

I agree with previous comments. Keirsey should be playing outfield for the twins over Margot or Castro and Alcala should have a spot in our bullpen.

Kiriloff and Julien need a reset at AAA. Bring up Keirsey Jr, and another infielder. Too bad Lee isn't healthy yet

We need Lewis. I think a Brooks Lee for Julien swap, even temporarily would maybe spark something too. But oh wait, every top prospect we have is on Il. Jenkins, Lee, Gonzalez, Canterino. What is with this training stuff that we can't keep our most important players on the field? Is it our medical staff, or do we single out weak, injury prone players to draft?

I think the lack of control for Fests and Raya is quite concerning. I get that it's pretty common in the minors for younger guys, but for a guy like Festa pitching in AAA, supposedly on the cusp of the majors, you sure would like to have those issues a bit more ironed out.

E-Rod and Keirsey Jr are looking real good this year. Would be nice to know what's up with Walker Jenkins. Strained hamstring on day one and nothing since? This was supposed to be his first full year and it's looking more and more like we won't see him until real late or next year, bummer. I haven't been too impressed with Festa or Raya either. Festa can't control the walks and Raya apparently can't throw more than 30-40 pitches. Rather it's fatigue or managers babysitting him I'm not sure...
