  1. If other teams even think Caratini or the Twins are doing this, it makes them doubt when they are thinking about challenging, possibly not doing so when they should have. Seems like Wallner and the Twins batters who were always wrong early on have stopped challenging (haven't caught every game so someone can tell me if I'm wrong).
  2. Improving another pitch, not adding to pitches he's capable of throwing. He really doesn't use 6 pitches when in the majors, at least not all in any kind of frequency that I recall. Zebby needs to add to his quality pitches that he can throw in the majors. If not, he is surely heading to the bullpen. As @Bangkok Twins Fan said above, not terrible if he turns into Louie Varland.
  3. Really feels like he's on the Louie Varland route at the moment.
  4. Matthews velocity being down is a concern. But according to the Saints radio broadcast, the Twins want him to work on improving another pitch, one that adds to his arsenal. Thus he is throwing more of his bad pitches right now (not sure if the stats prove that to be the case). I forget exactly what pitch that is. Maybe someone can help me out on here.
  5. Ben Ross looks to be in the lead now for minor league hitter of the month for the Twins. Ellwanger for the pitchers, though I'm not sure Moring has given up a run either.
  6. CJ Culpepper with his 2nd great start. Runs are at a premium in Fort Myers. This is at least the 3rd time they've been 1 hit this year. Look at these batting averages of the guys who played last night (Guess which one is D. Pena):
  7. It feels like Pena has half of the Mighty Mussels hits as the team as a whole hasn't started hitting much yet.
  8. Appreciate these intros. I think the Twins are headed to Toronto and not KC (in the headline)
  9. Houston is the early leader in the hitter of the month for the Twins minor leagues, with Culpepper maybe in 2nd. That is really great news for guys that also field very well.
  10. Several of us have said this winter, 'this roster makeup doesn't make sense with a bullpen that needs a great defense and an offense that is mostly filled with guys who don't hit a lot of homers that is also slow footed.'
  11. Some people don't like Wallner but without him right now, we have multiple shutouts. Does anyone else hit for power? We didn't like so many strikeouts, me included, but a team that doesn't hit for power (or much of anything) and strikes out a lot is even harder to watch (or listen to).
  12. Encouraging start to the season for CJ Culpepper. Maybe it always happens early in the season, just seems like like we have given up a lot of unearned runs. And thus our defense in the minors is off to a rough start.
  13. Rarely does a hitter going 1 for 3 without a HR get hitter of the day. But hits were RARE across our minor league teams. And watch, today, they will probably all score 10 runs.
  14. Dreaming that DeBarge can hit like this to go along with his speed and defense. Great start. Did I miss the article on the Fort Myers roster, like the rest had?
  15. Seems like Hidalgo has been in the minors forever, Angels (I think) and Twins. Yet, he is still the youngest pitcher on Wichita. Gallagher and Olivares the other two born in 2003 there. DeBarge and Mendes are the youngest hitters.
  16. Like your enthusiasm for him as I used to have him in my top 10 prospects (thought the bat would come along and he was great at SS). Now, after ending 2024 in Cedar Rapids and playing all of 2025 there, he is still there in 2026. With him hardly playing any SS now also, players repeating a level like this usually don't make it past AAA.
  17. Lots of returning players should make this a strong team, other than the OF. Quite a bit of talent on that pitchers injured list right now.
  18. Late stop sign by the 3rd base coach according to radio announcers. Who is the 3rd base coach anyway?
  19. Never a good sign for a young player to start the season with two DNP's - Schobel and Sabato, unless they have some minor injury.
  20. Listened on radio online. Announcers said in the 1st inning that Preilipp's limit was 65 pitches and Jenkins will only play 7 innings.
  21. Culpepper with 3 hits already.
  22. Not mentioned is Austin Martin throwing to the wrong base and allowing the eventual 2nd run to go to 2nd base. It was what most of us expected - great starting pitching, a bullpen that will blow a lead and not a lot of hitting.
