Agreed, mainly because St. Paul now plays longer than the rest. Therefore, the best one or two players at AA usually get bumped up to the Saints to get a little more playing time.

No, Mendez can't play anywhere on defense and can't hit many HR's. He is another DH and thus is stalled at AAA. He would make the team defense and team speed worse. We can't win playing so many DH types in the field. 1B would have been his ticket but he apparently can't play there.

I don't think Larnach or Ober will be on the Twins in 2027. The Twins need to improve defensively and with overall team speed. We may sacrifice a little hitting at first, but it's time for Jenkins and Rodriguez in 2027. Ober has some injury history in his past. With Lopez coming back, I think he will be traded in the off-season.

Fragoza is listed as INF/OF. If he keeps hitting on his way through the minors, where does he project defensively in the future and is he a plus or minus on defense?

Keaschall must hit in order to stay in MLB, and he is. Right now, he is a DH (yet another one). He needs to work on being an adequate left fielder because that's the only OF position his arm will allow. And that play yesterday where he turned a single into a triple wasn't good. It was terrible judgment. The ball wasn't really that close to the wall to bounce out to where he was standing. This is another reason many of us are high on both Jenkins and E-Rod (okay, maybe not so many are as high on E-Rod anymore). They can actually play defense. This will help our pitching.

Oddly, if Houston is really great and the Twins think he's their SS for years to come, I think he gets the Walker Jenkins treatment and comes up just late enough in August 2027 in order to get another year of control and the chance at rookie of the year in 2028. Culpepper did not get this treatment, which also says he's not quite at Jenkins level. That's my reading of the Twins tea leaves (been wrong many times before).

Vallimont has had enough great games that it's time to move him up to the Saints. Also nice to see Bohorquez turning his season around.

Martin and Roden mentioned going down when Buxton returns and they both have a sensational game recently.

Twins. He's not worth trading now, as his stock has dropped due to injuries. I say he will start in AAA if the 4th option year is true and then come up to the Twins. We waited out Buxton getting healthy enough to play worth $15 million/year. We will wait on the talent of Erod to be healthy (no sliding head first, I mean thumbs first).

It is interesting that the Twins seem to be keeping Jackson on the MLB roster so they have him for next year. With all the catching injuries, he won't make it through waivers.
  11. FlyingFinn
Can you also tell us how long he will stay activated 😊? Seriously, the Twins are a different team with Buxton out there and he fully earns what he is being paid, even with the amount he plays. I will welcome his return.

What's your opinion as of now - can he actually be a catcher in MLB? I keep reading that he can't throw out runners. Also, if he's not a catcher, what do you think his chances of making it to MLB are? Seems a much steeper climb at that point.
  14. FlyingFinn
Jenkins looks ready. With only a week or so to manipulate his service time, we will find out if the Twins are actually doing that.
  15. FlyingFinn
Tait and Lackey will be interesting. Lackey is older and played college. He should move faster and should surpass Tait at some point, possibly even at the start of next year. Do we really want both on the same team if we want each to catch more than 50% of the time (I haven't paid attention if Tait is currently playing catcher more than 50% of their games)?

Answer this question - would we be happy if Houston got to AAA and hit .250 with 10 HR's in 373 AB's? Interesting question because that's what Noah Miller is doing with the Dodgers AAA team (for some who don't know, we traded Miller for Manuel Margot and Rayne Doncon - both out of the Twins organization).

Why do I cringe any time I read "Emmanuel Rodriguez" and "dive" in the same sentence. Just keep those thumbs safe.
  18. FlyingFinn
I'm not saying I wouldn't call them up but the poster asked for possible downsides. My only question is call them up now or in a couple weeks.
  19. FlyingFinn
Biggest downside - they aren't ready. With Culpepper, it's coming back from injury after a lengthy layoff. Jenkins it's just some more reps and maybe adding some homers. Other minor downsides - No rookie of the year next year and no extra 1st round draft pick (more looking to 2027 rather than win this year). And, as you said, they can't play in AAA if there is a lockout in 2027.
  20. FlyingFinn
Culpepper for Gray and Jenkins for........... Roden I guess, barring injury, at some point.
  21. FlyingFinn
Interesting question - who would trade Rojas and Roden for Hoffman?
  22. FlyingFinn
For some, yes, and then the last one: We traded Varland??????!!!!!!! Falvey needs to be fired!
  23. FlyingFinn
I believe they are acquiring guys who are controllable in at least 2027. Gausman isn't so they got rid of him.
