  1. Ryan's pitch count is going up real fast. Might be time to sing Louie, Louie today?
  2. No problems...Dick and Roy on BSN.
  3. Like the lineup, except for Stevenson. I hope that MAT heals quickly. Would love to see another strong game from Ryan. Might as well sweep these guys!
  4. There's no doubt he looks pretty damn good right now. It's still early, and a very small sample size. Let's see him get a full season at this level and see what happens. It's all about adjustments. There's nothing I'd want more for him, than to stay healthy, and deliver like he's been doing since he got to the majors.
  5. Big win. It was especially nice to see Giolito get shelled! I hope they saved a little in the tank for Gray today. It would be great to get him a win, they way he's been pitching. I know what Tito was doing yesterday, but it's still ridiculous to have a position player pitching in the 6th inning! That shouldn't be allowed. In any event, let's get a couple more wins out in Cleveland!
  6. I'd take just about anyone over Sands and Floro. Keuchel needs to go too.
  7. Ya think? He's a DP machine and he's really struggling at the plate. Whether it's the injury or the pressure of his contract...whatever the reason, he's been pretty bad all season. Sure he has a decent game every once in a while...like last night, but it's time to drop him in the order. He's superb in the field though! He sure isn't letting his struggles at the plate, affect his glove at all.
  8. I'm more than ready to let the Keuchel experiment end. Yep, he's had a few decent outings, but I don't think he really adds anything to this team. I'd rather have Ober in the rota than Keuchel. I don't even want to go into Gallo. Nice win by our boys and another great comeback!
  9. This has to be very tough on Buxton mentally. I'm sure he's well aware of his rep as someone who can't stay on the field for one reason or another. Someone who's fragile and always injured. Seems to me, that this injury to his knee has been kind of a mystery right from the get-go. If I remember correctly, he got scoped for a patellar tendon issue, and to "clean up" some loose particles in his knee. Obviously, no surgery is minor, but as knee injuries go, this was considered a minor procedure. It's not an ACL or MCL tear and reconstruction. We've all seen players come back from those major knee injuries/surgeries to be at, or close, to 100% after. It happens all the time in all major sports. Sometimes even multiple knee repairs. It looks like Buxton's knee condition is chronic and will be an issue going forward. I have to believe that the Twins medical team should know the seriousness and extent of the problem. Maybe something got missed and more surgery is needed? Maybe it'll be something that Buxton will have to deal with in terms of how much pain or soreness, he can put up with and play with? I don't know the answer. Hopefully, we get more clarification over the next several days.
  10. He was removed from the game last night after two AB's, due to more discomfort in his knee. Not good news. There should be more info today.
  11. Cleve getting Giolito, Lopez, and Moore sure isn't helping the situation. That could be a huge factor down the stretch. There's plenty of time for Cleve to catch us...especially if we lay down on this road trip. If we somehow go 0-6 with Tex and Cleve...all bets are off. Don't forget the Mets and TB are the next 6 games after that, but those are here. I think we have to at least go 6-6 in those 12 games. There's no choice but to roll with what we've got and hope they produce. It's put up or shut up time.
  12. We only got 4 hits...that's not gonna cut it. There's just no consistency from game to game, and I believe the constant lineup changes affect that. I don't agree with that and never will. Gray certainly deserved better, but he's kind of had bad luck that way all season. Yes, this bullpen is really hurting us right now...every single one of them. I also don't like throwing Funderburk into that situation. There's still time for this team to blow their lead. I don't expect it, but it's happened before. This road trip is crucial!
  13. Lopez, Gray, and Ryan are your three starters. You don't need more than that. Maeda for Ryan, if Ryan reverts to giving up bunches of homers. No way do I give Ober a start, based on his recent outings. Looks like he hit the wall and needs a rest.
  14. Wasted a very good Ryan start. He looked like himself again. It's nice to have him back. With Scherzer pitching, I was reasonably sure we'd lose this one, but the way we lost was disgusting. Nah...we didn't need any bullpen help at the deadline...let's just roll with what we've got. NOT! Jax was brutal again, even though he'd been better lately. Just throw a damn strike! Floro is terrible! I know the analytics, but I don't agree with them. I'm too old to embrace all of it. I don't like Duran in the 8th to face the top of their order. He hasn't been that great either. Sure, we probably lose anyway somehow, but I would've used Jax first, then Duran. Another game today, so let this one go. We'll win this division by default, but this pen will kill us in a playoff game/series.
  15. There is absolutely no doubt...that team is a disaster...and it starts with Reinsdorf. I don't think they'll be competitive, even in this putrid division, for a long time.
  16. Are you kidding me? You guys don't think that Floro was an awesome get?🤪
  17. It sucks! Because he's on one of my fantasy teams! OUCH! Seriously, they're going to wear that poor guy out. The human body can only take so much. I know he's said that he wants to pitch and bat, but he might have to give up the pitching part, and just hit. He probably won't be the same pitcher anymore after the 2nd TJ, but who knows? It's really a shame he blew his elbow out again.
  18. Another perfect example of Baldelli mismanaging the bullpen.
  19. It's more than obvious at this point...he's going to get hurt. He's ALWAYS going to get hurt. It doesn't matter if he's the DH or in CF...he's going to get hurt. It's who he is and who he's always going to be. If its going to be better for the team, then put him out in CF to give us some DH flexibility. Let him have a few rehab games in StP in the field, and then bring him up. When he gets hurt again, they can figure out what to do at that time. MAT has sure filled in admirably out there this season.
  20. I don't care if it's because he's eating Fruit Loops for breakfast instead of Lucky Charms...just keep it up. He was nearly an automatic out in the first half of this season, and except for the juiced ball year, he hasn't really done much at the plate. He's always been very solid defensively. If this turns out to be his last season here, let it be a good one.
  21. We didn't lose last night because of Gray, we lost because we can't get a clutch hit with men on base. Gray was pretty much fine, until he got gassed. We just can't hit in key situations. Bases loaded? Fuhgeddaboudit! Nothing but bad, wasted AB's from several guys. Swinging at bad pitches, way outside the zone. Strike out after strike out! I don't hold out much hope for today either, with Kuechel going. We could lose the series easily.
  22. Nice win. Lopez was in trouble just about every inning, but came out of it ok. It sure would SUCK if Wallner goes down. Hopefully, it's just a bruise and he only misses a game or two. I'm not too worried about Gray tonight, but Keuchel tomorrow could be a problem. If he gets shelled again, I wouldn't give him another start.
  23. The thing about Martin's "character"...is that he WAS a character! I wasn't in Mn when he was with the Twins, but I lived in the NY/NJ area the whole time he and Steinbrenner did their dance with the Yankees. What a nut-house! It was the craziest thing imaginable. Every day was a different circus ring. The Bronx Zoo it was!
