    MLB desperately needs a salary cap more than anything else, but it'll be next to impossible to get there. There's going to be a very long lockout/strike after next season. The game may never recover from it.

    The other day I listened to Shelton on KFAN with Barreiro. I was disappointed initially with his hiring, but I softened my stance after hearing him in that interview. I don't know if any of you heard it, but I'm sure it can be pod-casted. He may not succeed here due to the overall situation, but he seems like he's light years ahead in baseball knowledge than Baldelli ever was. Seems like a pretty good guy too. At least he has a personality and a sense of humor. I never got that feeling from listening to Baldelli. He was a robot who spoke nonsense most of the time. I'm still not entirely crazy about Shelton being the manager, but I'm willing to see what happens. He HAD to have learned something from his time in Pittsburgh. Maybe it will serve him well here. One thing I'd love to see...is bring Rowson in here as bench coach. Reportedly, they're in talks with him to do that.

    I agree with this. Miranda...for whatever reason...was never the same after he got hit in the head. Whether it was something physical, or mental, he never got back to where he was before that. He was never gonna be a gold glover, but he had potential as a hitter.
