    I'm no Rocco fan, and I don't agree with a lot of what he does, or his decision making, but if I was going to say anything in his defense, it would be that I believe he's a "manager in training". He had zero managing experience before he became the Twins manager. He went from being a player, to three years as a roving minor league instructor and special assistant, to being a 1st base coach, and finally a major league field coordinator. Yes, sure he had to have picked up some knowledge about how to manage a ball club, but the point is...I think he was pretty green when he got here. Now, I don't remember who else Falvine considered for the job, but I think they basically rolled the dice on Baldelli, and hoped they would discover a diamond in the rough. I'm sure he came relatively cheap, as managers go too. Have we had some regular season success under Baldelli? Yep...but I don't really think he's learned all the skills and nuances that are needed to be a successful major league manager. A lot of big league managers bomb out in their first gig, then hit it big at the next stop, or even the stop after that. I really don't expect him to get canned, but for me personally, I'm ready for the next guy. Just my two cents.

    We need Ryan to give us 6 or 7 shut out innings, because the way things are going we'll only get maybe 2 or 3 runs from our stellar lineup.

    I'm surprised nobody has said anything about the hickey that Archer has on his neck. He must have spent some time last night in the back of a 71 VW Super Beetle...oh wait, that might have been me.

    Not the best news, but not really a surprise. We're gonna need Mahle down the stretch, so let's hope he doesn't have a relapse when he comes back. As for Smeltzer...ugh. Hope he's only used in middle relief.

    As long as Baldelli uses Pagan early or mid game, in VERY low leverage situations, I don't mind if he sticks until the end of the season. He's proven time and again, that he can't be trusted in a close game, or with the game on the line. That being said, if he gets DFA'd, I'd be ok with that too. No matter what, I can't see him on this team next season.

    Wondering if anyone sharper/smarter than I am (and believe me, it wouldn't take much!), that has some insight/opinion as to what the best TV service provider is in the twin cities area? I'm looking for ideas as to which company to go with. It's getting about time for me to start looking and I really dread doing it. I'm with Spectrum right now. I've had Directv previously, and was with Frontier after that. I switched to Charter/Spectrum maybe 3 -4 years ago. I HATE all of them. All have a bazillion channels that we never watch, and they all gouge the hell out of you on pricing. My wife and I need a land line phone, internet, and TV service...and it has to obviously get Bally Sports North. I'm kind of old school, so that probably limits my options somewhat too. We barely use cell phones and have Consumer Cellular for those. No need for a cell plan. We don't have any smart TV's, but I do have a Firestick on the main set, so we do some streaming. We don't need or want any movie channels like HBO/Showtime/etc. Like I mentioned...TV, internet, and land line phone service. That's about it I guess. Anybody have any good intel for an old geezer like me? Thanks in advance.

    That's about as good a news as we could hope for. Only problem is...this makes twice in the last 5-6 weeks that this pretty much same issue has happened to him. You just can't help wondering that there's more going on with his shoulder, that's being missed somehow. Fingers crossed. Hope he only misses a turn and is back ok after that.

    We must be cursed or something with our starting pitchers. Mahle makes three starts, then has this shoulder issue pop up again. He was on the IL in early July with Cincy with a strained shoulder issue too, before we got him. They did an MRI there and he had irritation/inflammation then. Let's hope a little rest takes care of it.

    Bremer just said that Mahle left the game with right shoulder fatigue.

    Very nice game intro. I grew up in the NY / NJ metropolitan area, and I had baseball ingrained into me as a child. My dad played minor league ball in the Phillies organization for a few years in the early 1950's. He realized that he probably wasn't going to be able to make a career out of playing ball...he wasn't good enough, but baseball was a center piece of our family life. Living in the NY / NJ area, it was either the Yankees or the Mets. For some reason, I was always a Mets fan. I hated the Yankees...still do. My dad had a couple tryouts with the Yankees which didn't amount to anything, and maybe that had something to do with it. I moved to the twin cities in 1982 and although I still loved the Mets, I began to follow the Twins. It didn't take long for them to become my main baseball team. They had a very young team and were still a few years away from being any good, but they had a decent young core. It was very easy for me to start to really like them and make them #1. Yeah, I still follow the Mets somewhat, but there's no doubt that the Twins are my team.

    When I was a kid in the NY/NJ metro area, I used to be able to pick up games from Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and every once in a while got St Louis. All on AM radio at night. I used to fall asleep listening to those ball games.

    Never fails...we get a couple guys on, or God forbid, the bases loaded...and what happens? NOTHING!

    I know I'm slowly (or very quickly, depending on which member of my immediate family you're talking to) going senile, but I can't even remember how long it's been since we won two games in a row. It can't be THAT long ago, but it sure seems like it. Maybe we can do that tonight?

    I know he's got an owie right now, and I'm sure that's bothering him...a broken toe is very painful, but he's been pretty brutal at the plate for a while now. Well before the broken toe. He's just not showing any growth/progress/improvement at all. Extremely unproductive AB's. Tries to pull everything and can't adjust to the shift(s). Weak grounder after weak grounder. He's very good defensively, but he's killing us with the bat in his hands. I agree with what someone said earlier...he looks like he's not really engaged or interested at times. Just not enjoying himself at all out there. Like he's battling something mentally. He's got skills, but he hasn't developed them in the last 2-3 years. After the year he had in 2019, the future looked real bright. It could be time to trade him and give one of the kids the job out there.
