  1. I'm fine with trading prospects for major league talent/players. Is it a little risky...sure, but take the damn chance to do something now. Try to win...NOW. Just because someone is decent in the minors, doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna perform in the bigs. There doesn't seem to be a lot of absolutely can't miss players in the minors, and we don't seem to ever have any of them anyway.
  2. Still have a couple hours left...can we please swing another one? Or two?
  3. Phils got Robertson.
  4. Looks like Mahle is probably coming here. Haven't seen for who. Is there another one?
  5. I'd do that in a heartbeat.
  6. Could it be? Nah.
  7. Here's an article about Lopez from the Orioles SB Nation / Camden Chat site. The story is from the end of June, but it's got some good info: https://www.camdenchat.com/2022/6/23/23179718/orioles-bullpen-jorge-lopez-improvement-2022
  8. Lopez career numbers are pretty abysmal, but all of a sudden he's having a great season. What happened? We also lit him up a couple times back in early July. Anyway, it seems like a good move. I hope he can really help us. I also hope we're not done with trades. Still some time left to make a couple deals.
  9. It's still pretty early, but he looks to be a solid #3 give or take. That's what I voted for. With more experience, maybe a little better than that.
  10. I just have this bad feeling that it's gonna be payback time for Detroit. Especially with Sanchez on the hill for us.
  11. I think you can start calling.
  12. The rich get richer...and we get left in the dust.
  13. I'm going with zip. The more I think about it, that Effross guy would've been a REAL nice get. I just watched some more vid of him...he looks damn good. It just ticks me off that the Yankees get guys like that. Why can't we have nice things?
  14. We've basically got one day left. Is the FO going to pull the trigger on something? Or are we going to do next to nothing to improve the team? I don't want to hear Falvine say "we didn't want to mortgage the future, for the present". We've been getting that BS for 30 years. I thought they'd have made a couple deals by now. Even minor ones. The effing Yankees just got Effross from the Cubs. Good stats and 5 years of team control! We obviously need more than that, but he would've fit right in here. I'm losing hope that they'll actually make any kind of solid addition by tomorrow.
  15. The Brewers have Devin Williams, and he's very good. Gets as many K's, if not more, than Hader does. He'll be the closer. Hader will be high buck when he gets to free agency after next season, so this deal will save Mil money. Rogers can close some games too and he'll be better as the set up guy anyway. The prospects that the Pads included are highly regarded. I don't think this deal hurts the Brewers at all. The REAL question is ...HAVE WE DONE ANYTHING YET? We've got Aaron Sanchez starting tonight...oh boy!
  16. Now Hader and Clevinger can share the same hair stylist!
  17. This isn't looking very promising. His career might be in real trouble. Let's hope this turns out to be a minor setback.
  18. I sure don't want our team to be sellers, but if we get our a** kicked the next two games by the Pads...I might have to rethink that a bit. It would only take a couple real solid moves by the FO to get this thing going in the right direction. They absolutely have to get 2-3 quality arms in here, and maybe a catcher. That could do it. It's true, you don't have to have the "best" team to win it all. Just get to the dance and see how it plays out.
  19. There must be some team out there willing to give us an old pair of dirty socks, or a pine tar rag, or SOMETHING for him!
  20. This has to be pretty much the end here for Sano...don't you think?
  21. Along with Kep. Beckham and Contreras are up.
  22. Back in the day...Jesus (I believe it was pronounced "Hey-Zeus"), had a 105 mph heater, a slider that broke two feet, and a straight change that would make you throw your bat in the stands. He gave up baseball, became a carpenter, and then opted for the ministry. I think we're gonna need his help to find some decent pitchers and get this team turned around.
  23. If the Twins are serious, and they want to get ANY of these arms that are out there, they're going to have to up the ante to land them. I have a hard time believing they'll do that, and maybe they really shouldn't. I'm not smart enough to know the answer to that. No doubt we need help. This team is cratering right now.
