  1. Just looked it up...Taylor is 30 seconds older!
  2. Is there any way that the Rogers brothers could be more different as pitchers? It's incredible.
  3. Agree. This is the only role for Smeltzer. Pagan? How about Uber?
  4. Supposedly a calf muscle tightened up on him.
  5. Yep, Margate is just outside of AC. AC is a strange place. Nothing like Vegas.
  6. Jersey shore? I grew up there. We had a place a few miles from the coast. Brielle, Point Pleasant, Mantoloking, Lavalette, Ortley Beach, Seaside Heights. The boardwalk is a blast. Great area!
  7. If you don't think Duluth is hilly, just take a drive around there with a 5 speed.
  8. Make sure you do some fun stuff too. Enjoy the time off!
  9. WOW! Did you see the graphic they just showed about the amount of complete games by pitchers? That is frickin amazing and shows how much the game has changed over the last 50 years.
  10. Yeah baby! We be doin sum spelunking ta day!
  11. Now,...we need one of these stellar relief pitchers to actually HOLD a lead for a change.
  12. Maybe so, but that doesn't change the stink.
  13. Pagan to Smeltzer...hmmn, smells the same to me.
  14. Pagan = zero command.
  15. According to MLB, this is the Twins lineup for todays game. SF's hasn't been posted yet: Arraez 1B Correa SS Kepler RF Miranda DH Gordon 2B Urshela 3B Cave LF Sanchez C Celestino CF Aaron Sanchez on the hill. Sanchez to Sanchez again. Gotta sweep these guys from the bay area!
  16. Best of luck. After my bowl of oatmeal and cup of joe...there's only one place I'll be running to this morning!
  17. Bert played on some gawd-awful teams too. He was a great pitcher who should have gotten into the HOF much sooner than he did.
  18. Nice game thread intro. I sure hope they can stop the slide, but unfortunately...when I look at that lineup, I have serious doubts that they will. Things are looking mighty bleak to me. Something has to light a fire under these guys, and get them going again. Time is running out.
  19. Then he cued up the camp fire scene from Blazing Saddles.
  20. Don't know who this ump is behind the dish, but he could give Angel a run for his money.
  21. Ain't no effing way that we have the cojones to hang with these guys. It's sickening.
  22. Ladies and gentlemen...we got him! Billy Hamilton! YAWN.
  23. That sure didn't take long. One pitch...one run.
  24. Talk is very cheap, and he's saying the right things at the moment, but I do think he'll opt out. That doesn't necessarily mean he's gone. I think he really does like it here, and it's very clear he's the leader on this team. All the younger guys look up to him and I believe the vets do too. Even guys like Buxton, Polanco, and Kepler. I think CC enjoys that leadership role. I'd love to have him as the SS for the next several years. He hasn't produced offensively as much as we'd hoped, but he doesn't have the team around him like he did in Houston either. That being said, he's far from an automatic out like a few of the guys we currently have in the lineup. Defensively, he's superb. Probably the best SS we've ever had here. I hope that he ends up staying.
  25. I'm thinking it's a solid bet that Verlander no hits us tonight.
