  1. Yeah...all that rain that missed us here in the metro, is racing toward Chicago. It sure looks like they're gonna get hit with some storms before the game is over.
  2. Whomever comes up with the bases jacked with less than two outs, should just stand there and take everything. At least then we won't hit into a double play and kill the inning.
  3. ChiSox activated Liam Hendriks today. Hopefully, we score plenty of runs in all three games, and they don't have an opportunity to use him.
  4. They DFA'd Minaya again today and activated Megill.
  5. Oh well...the third time wasn't the charm. Off to Chicago and Texas.
  6. Ok..time to kick the comeback/walk off into gear.
  7. Oops...meant to say Lasik. I think Lasix is a diuretic! I guess whichever one works.
  8. Bremer can't even tell the difference between a routine short fly ball and a bomb anymore. He needs lasik or at least a stronger prescription on his eyeglasses.
  9. It's only the 6th inning...too early to mount a come back. We need to wait another inning or two.
  10. Just looked at the radar. Probably another 30-40 minutes of light rain before it moves out.
  11. He came out of the game right after he took that shot to the mask, so Bremer and Perk thought it might have something to do with that. Haven't seen anything about it today. If he's in, he must be ok.
  12. Probably all of the above. I'm sure teams are getting the book on him and adjusting, so he'll have to adjust accordingly. I'd bet the Covid has something to do with it too. We never really did hear how severe his bout with it was, but he was out longer than some others who've had it. Maybe tonight we'll see the guy from earlier in the season. I hope so.
  13. Interesting article. I'm an old school traditionalist, so I'll never like this approach, but I know it's probably what things might evolve into eventually. Unfortunately, as has been said here...there's no way we have the arms/talent to pull this strategy off currently. I don't know...maybe we never will. I can live with the "opener" plan every once in a while, because that's pretty much all relievers, but I don't want to get to a point where starters are regularly going 3-4 innings every start, then turning it over to the pen all the time. I can't wrap my brain around that one. To me...you'll burn out your pen doing that. I want 3 or 4 good, solid starting pitchers who can go at least 6 innings if they're pitching well. Sure, if a guy is getting rocked in the 3rd, you pull him, but if he isn't, why take him out?
  14. We could have...should have...won all five games there. Instead, we blew three of them late. That should tell the FO exactly what the problem is. The question is...what will they do to fix it?
  15. Something has to change fellas...because this plan just ain't working.
  16. If by some divine miracle, we go to extras. Does Thorny get the 10th?
  17. Realistically...Cleve should have about 10 or 12 runs this game. This is putrid.
  18. Wow...the stink is even infecting CC. That's real bad.
  19. This isn't going to end well...is it?
  20. The TNT is wired and the plunger is up.
  21. Buckle up...things might get very interesting in the 8th and 9th.
  22. In my opinion...this is a "statement" game. We need to kick some Guardian a** today. Show them what we're made of. We can't let them win the finale and take the series. We can beat Beebs. Get out in front early, score some runs, and take the last game.
  23. I'm no Rocco fan, but he's severely limited in what options he has in the pen. That's the FO's fault. They keep trying to do the "build a pitching staff and build a bullpen" method on the cheap...year after year, and it just doesn't work. There's no doubt they have to make a few moves to shore up the bullpen. Whether or not they actually do it remains to be seen. You don't have to be a genius to see that Pagan and Duffey have failed miserably. They're no better than mop up guys right now. They're worthless. We basically have Duran, Jax, and T-Bar, and not much else. We've got a whole 2nd half of the season coming up and the risk of burning those guys out is very real. That means trusting and giving innings to the rest of the bullpen stiffs, or making a couple deals. I guess it's possible to bring up some of the arms in the minors, but that's real risky too. I'm not smart enough to know what the right answer is, but we just can't compete with the big boys with our current bullpen arms.
  24. Wow. Pagan is just killing us. I'd be 100% fine with cutting him loose right now. Please take Cotton too. ANYONE else would be better than those two.
  25. Brutal strike call on Arraez, not that it really mattered.
