  1. I've heard the Padres are looking for SP'ers as they are a little nervous about Lugo, Martinez and Morejon on the back end of the rotation. So they need insurance in case one or more of these guys falter.
  2. From what I read Story's shoulder is bad enough that he can no longer play on the left side of the infield. Hernandez is currently the best SS option unless the rush Mayer to the bigs. Devers will need to be a 1B man in the not-too-distant future. So, if the Red Sox want to move forward with Kepler and Arraez then Arraez would need to man third and Verdugo or Kepler in Center with Hernandez/Mayer at SS. If I'm the Red Sox, I'm not likely to see this is a good solution short or long term.
  3. I don't personally love any of those deals. Maybe Swanson but I think it was an overpay but we could have survived it. Rodon - Injury Risk seldom has he made 30 GS Swanson - Regression Thor - Has lost velo since surgery Bassitt - Age related regression is possible
  4. Miranda looks like a weak side platoon DH to me. He is so stiff in the field I just don't see him being an average or better fielder. However, I would avoid this list of third sackers. If we could solve the SS situation, then Farmer could play some third along with Arraez while Lee develops. Sounds like Lee is more of a 3B guy from the scouting reports I've read.
  5. I want the Twins to actually field a team with a set of twins. So I'd been hoping for Tyler to be in Minnesota rather than vice versa. One day I'll get my wish.
  6. Sorry about the video I'm not sure how that got into my posting.

  9. Sounds like Trevor Bauer may be released by the Dodgers and his suspension is lifted. Trevor comes with a great deal of baggage but he was an ACE. Do the Twins make a risky deal to get a potential ACE that is still relatively young?
  10. At this point I hate to give up the draft capital or deplete the farm system anymore. So I'm out on Eovaldi and Adames. Relievers are needed badly but I prefer Chafin but Smith is fine. Getting Brad Hand sounds good as maybe he'd like to play in his home state. I think we should roll with Farmer at SS and see how Lewis performs after 2 knee surgeries. I wish we would have pursued Wil Myers instead of Gallo just a gut feeling on Myers but he is a righty bat.
  11. Can we at least sign good ballplayers. Guys that can put wood on the ball so we at least stand a chance of getting a hit. No one wants to see this dude shaking his head walking back to the dugout 200 times. Not to mention the $11 million we dished out, we could have signed Andrew Chafin or a very good reliever for that and filled a need. Geez this sounds like a Bill Smith move.
  12. I heard that Cole Hamels is considering a comeback, is this 39 year old worth a minor league deal. I'm sure he could teach the staff a thing or two about pitching and winning. View full rumor

  14. Jack Hurley is a 5 tool OF'er out of Virginia Tech that looks interesting.
  15. If you want to improve the pitching staff one step is to find a Catcher that can call a great game. The Twins do not have a catcher that I trust in that regard. If you insist on rostering catchers that can't hit, then maybe find a Martin Maldonado type guy.
  16. It might be me, but it seems the Twins leadership is often underestimating the #1 SP AAVs. They say they want to be players for an ACE then they get sticker shock and need to pivot. Maybe they should put more time into other methods to develop or acquire a future #1 and less time falling into this free agent pothole they keep hitting. Maybe I'm just getting frustrated.
  17. The dude can catch 140 games if Jeffers is a bust. I realize he doesn't have alot of sting in his bat but a good game caller and defensive catcher who's athletic. I lot to like about Vazquez.
  18. I'd like to see Max stay and hit without the shift. He could be traded mid-season if things are not working out for Max and/or the team. You may find a pennant contender with an injury that could bring a useful piece.
  19. Each team just got $30M for the Bamtech sale so that unexpected windfall seems to be burning a whole in the old pockets.
  20. Remember they traded Joe Musgrove to get Endy Rodriguez so not just any SP'er is going to be enough.
  21. It would be nice to have a more traditional first baseman over Arraez. I think the line-up needs a power bat from that position and Abreu could bridge the gap to AK getting healthy. I'm not certain the Twins can compete with the Padres and others in need of his services and the fact that the 1B need is not high on the Twins list.
  22. Stone Garrett was DFA'd by Arizona and he is a strong right handed hitting left fielder and only 26. He had 32 homers last year between AAA and Majors and over 60 extra base hits. May be a good waiver wire target. Also some pitching depth available in Ryan Yarbrough and Jarlin Garcia.
  23. I'm in the Haniger camp as he fills the lefty mashing need and covers some ground in the outfield.
