  1. I didn't look through every single submission...did anyone mention Richard Becker?
  2. Lets get to 85 wins secure the 2nd wild card go to NY and kick the bleep out of the Yankees!
  3. Couldn't agree more...I think it has everything on the negative side of the fan base to do with the number 23 as in million.
  4. I agree...I think there is ZERO chance he would sign a 2 year extension at 15/year. More like wanting 15 per year for 4 years.
  5. I agree and what a fantastic baseball story that would be! 44 year old Big Sexy starting game 1 of the ALDS!
  6. Let's be thankful for the recent success from Gibson rather than focusing too much on the garbage he was dealing earlier in the season. It is all in the rear view mirror. If we can get another 5 quality starts or so out of the guy that would be golden...personally I do not think he is brought back next year due to the extreme swings in performance we tend to see from him. I don't see that being in the new FO'S blueprint for long term success. I think a change of scenery would do him and the organization well.
  7. I believe there have been articles etc. in the past where the Pohlad's have said they are willing to spend around 50 to low 50's a % of revenue towards payroll.
  8. What a fan club it was...if memory serves me correctly Randy Bush had a crew out in the RF upper deck also.
  9. It is August 10th and we are speaking of the Twins being 1.5 GB. of a playoff spot! They have certainly had many ups/downs which is typical in a traditional baseball season. They are giving fans a reason to at least remain engaged. For those of us on Twins Daily great cordial debate on what they should/should not do etc. For me I see a team that is internally on a mission for themselves to prove to each other they are a good baseball team. Certainly not a great team but a team that is going to bust it hard in how they play. They didn't fold the tents in after that West Coast trip and the moves the FO made. I think that is part of their motivation inside the clubhouse. Hopefully we can continue to enjoy a great ride for the next 50 games! It would be fantastic if the last 10 games or so were a legit playoff atmosphere. WIN TWINS
  10. Certainly have an opportunity to get him back in the off season as he is a free agent. He was very solid in a Twins uniform. Good luck Brandon! Great example of not giving up and continuing to put in the work.
  11. I think TK once said a big leaguer needs around 1500 or so at bats (not exact) before he truly can get it or not get it. So say you go below that number at around 1200 roughly 2 seasons. Polanco would be about halfway to that point. I certainly agree on the ups and downs. I am not saying he is the solution at ss for the next 10+ years but think he at least needs to be given the remainder of the season. Long tenured big leaguers have ups and downs. Due to experience they know how to deal with those ups and downs. Generally speaking they don't get too high on themselves when they are rolling and don't get too down when they are struggling.
  12. Not a single sane person in any one of those cities! It certainly is fun.
  13. .679 winning % is 56 wins in the NBA/NHL and 11 in the NFL...certainly not uncommon...speaks to just how high in volume 162 game season is to get things to go your way for 6 months of constantly playing ballgames.
  14. Agree 100% No bleeping way we could/would do that deal. The organization wouldn't even be in the same stratosphere vs. what the Cubs gave up. Really paints a picture as to the asking price for controllable starting pitching via trade.
  15. I would say one of those deals where both organizations came out of it quite pleased with the outcome.
  16. He has the talent for certain. Makes you wonder if it is between the ears where he is lacking. His confidence could be shot. Would be great if he could be counted on a consistent basis but that has not been the case.
  17. Great article Seth...I think the questions raised within will give great insight as to the new FO'S take on this season and the future of the roster and minor league system. Personally I don't see them going the rental route. I think they want players that they would have at least a couple of years of team control over.
  18. Gold jacket/green jacket who gives a s^^t...great swing to emulate. Somehow someway figure it out Byron we believe in ya kid.
