  1. You got mine!
  2. At least Fryer might be able to throw a runner out.
  3. Really? I admired the bullets Tonkin was throwing today - we aren't privy to that kind of heat from Twins pitching. Guerrier was crap as expected. OMG, I'm becoming a complainer
  4. 12 pitchers is enough if you manage them well - I was watching the Twins Boston day game the other day, and Burton and Fien threw back to back 6 pitch innings. Fien was replaced for Perkins, which I can understand, but why replace Burton after 6 pitches? I am keen on efficiency, and the Twins and pitching is a wasteful process. Gardy burns through his bullpen like a heavy smoker through a pack of Chesterfields.
  5. I'll buck the trend and say I'd be fine with Nola - sometimes the numbers don't lie, and this kid has been better statistically than any college pitcher the Twins have drafted in recent memory.
  6. I think of Seattle as a team that has the Twins number of late. Looked it up, 9-16 over the last 3 years, although the Twins did win the season series last year 4-3.
  7. I'm not sure I'd go 8 million a year for Dozier. He's a nice piece, but just paying him market rate would likely be less expensive.
  8. I'd become a neutral, or a Red Sox fan. I wouldn't give a rat's ass for the Twins, or what ever they became anymore though. Nothing emphasizes the greed and business side of pro sports more than franchise relocation.
  9. Mauer will never be an all star as a 1st baseman. Dozier is unknown to 90% of voters. There will be no Twin voted. Perkins is the safe and logical choice to be named.
  10. The only reason I can thing of is that Guerrier is French for warrior, i.e. someone who battles, perhaps even at the expense of their derriere.
  11. Actually a guy I really liked who has yet to be mentioned was Jim Kaat. Best ex-Twin announcer ever.
  12. Some divergence of opinion here. Let me say that Carneal was THE best, and there's the rest. I do like former players as color guys, because of the perspective they offer. I even like Coomer and Smalley. I'm easy to please. There are announcers I do find annoying though - LaPanta, American soccer announcers, etc.
  13. Gladden is a great baseball announcer - agreed.
  14. OK - I'm on the Escobar for short bandwagon. He's looked good in the field and at the plate.
  15. I have to say, when I first tuned in yesterday, I thought, "who is this doofus in there with Dick." It was just the tone of his voice. But after watching considerable chunks of 2 games with Morris in there, I like him quite a lot. I realize he isn't a hall of famer, and Bert is, but still ;-D (I do enjoy Bert as well is should be said)
  16. Enjoyed the laugh Swisher and Kubel shared at 1st after Jason's shift beater.
  17. 93 mph heater to low 70's breaking ball. Nice variation there for Mr. Darnell.
  18. Watching the last few innings of last night's game reminded me a lot of last year - whiff whiff whiff.
  19. I'm hoping the Twins will be able to avoid those lengthy losing streaks with their current rotation.
  20. At least it wasn't a PED. More a performance detracting drug. Proves his talent is legit at least.
  21. This guy's career hasn't really gone as planned so far.
  22. Twins Territory is one of the larger ones geographically speaking. Thanks for posting that.
  23. Thank you - weird to hear the ball pop the mitt like that - sounds like maybe 50 people were there
  24. A share of 1st and TWO games over .500 on the line tomorrow. It's like September in May!
