  1. Exactly my feel on the guy, well said Doc.
  2. Bert alreadt wins this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c84V486jzYY Matt Garza!!!
  3. The Twins may have actually bought low with this guy if Cleveland goes on to win the Series. Already liking the results of his labors.
  4. Waiting till he's fully grown to work on breaking balls? Sounds good to me.
  5. In the words of Calvin Griffith, " I really like that kid." Hey, Dwight Gooden broke into the majors at 19. Give him a couple years in the minors to work on the secodary offerings and boom, potential ace.
  6. As mentioned in another thread, ZG profiles as a perfect 4th guy(at the least): speed, glove, plate discipline. He could fill in at all 3 OF positions, provide late inning defense and speed on the basepaths. How is his arm?
  7. Like the approach they are taking with English. I would like to see 4th outfielders of his or Granite's ilk - speed, good defense, not hapless with a bat, can come in as a sub both for defense and baserunning. Grooming them from within seems so much better than going out back to the scrapyard for Mastro, Robinson, or Schaeffer. Grossman is not a good enough fielder to be an ideal 4th outfielder.
  8. So Seth, Stuart Turner doesn't make your top 50? Or did I just miss him?
  9. Grrene certainly looks the part - he also looks like the kind of player a team like the Twins are only going to get through the draft.
  10. Not bringing someone back who had an expired 1 year deal isn't really the same thing as firing them. I don't think this really requires a POBO to accomplish.
  11. I wanna know who voted Buddy Boshers! Ah, Pleiss eh? You have any loose change lying around that needs, ya know, special attention? I specialize in such, shall we say, transactions....
  12. Sox got the mojo - Possible MVP in Betts, last time 'round for Ortiz, and a fantastic supporting cast, some of whom have been there, plus a home field advantage. Sox Giants or Cubs is my ideal final.
  13. My thoughts as well. Thought I'd missed him, but he isn't 11-50.
  14. But at least it worked, twice. How about the Vikings way, or the Wolves, North Stars/Wild way? How's that worked out? Lynx are the new gold standard aroung here.
  15. Looking at that vid of Greene, wow, he has the look of a future stud for a barely 17 year old kid, already 6'4"200lbs. All arms and legs coming at ya, but in a coordinated way. Sounds like he has a great make up too especially after reading this: http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/get-to-know/
  16. I remember watching Christian Guzmann just run mad around the bases, and was fast and looked fast, but it looked max-effort, short quick strides. Buxton runs like a sprinter, such long strides he makes it look so elegant/effortless. I did see the look on his face as he rounded third, which blew the illusion somewhat, but wowza what a stride that kid has, 20+mph. This last month has been a blast to watch, 103 losses be damned.
  17. Buxton 2-4 with 2B, HR, 2 RBI, BB. Sano 2-4 with HR, 3 RBI, BB. Kepler 2-3. Berrios 5 IP, 1 ER, W. More games like this from these 4 in 2017 could mean a lot more wins.
  18. Burdi, Light, Chargois, Melotakis, Pressly: the bullpen could be getting warmer and warmer.
  19. Here's something to consider: http://i926.photobucket.com/albums/ad109/monkeypox/Screen%20Shot%202016-09-28%20at%206.24.27%20PM.png Grossman has a pretty good OPS. So good, that one asks, should he be the LF and Rosario the 4th OF? Eddie can play all 3 spots, whereas RG is limited to LF. Makes some small sense. Also, Vargas needs to play until he proves he's not capapble.
  20. I thought Austin Powers at first, but that's just 2.
  21. Well, hopefully they add a top 20, if not top 10 talent with the next #1 overall. What a nice present to give your new chief of baseball operations! Like a housewarming gift.
  22. #1 overall draft pick ... mmmmmm. Be good, be bad, but never mediocre.
  23. He continues to get on base - his defense is elite. Hitting .290ish for the month. He has off nights, but he has come miles from where he was in spring. Next year gonna be fun methinks.
  24. Yaah, this is incredibad. My nephew could do a better job than PM. I was charitable up until a few weeks ago, but he is just bad.
