    I was on-board the Angel Morales hype train after he hit .301 and had 15 homers as an 18 year old in E'town, and followed it up with a respectable showing as a 19 year old in the Midwest League.

    Youngest guy in his draft class so far. Royce was also quite young for his draft year as I recall.

    Not so bold prediction: one of the guys the Twins draft tonight will be ranked 200 or greater by BA, Fangraphs, MLB, or any of the other popular sites.

    Looks like the Tigers got a good one in Casey Mize, last year's #1 overall. His AA stats so far: 7G, 5-0, 1.21 ERA, 44.2 IP, 28 H, 9 BB, 40K. Combined with high A earlier this year: 11G, 7-0, 0.89 ERA, 70.2 IP, 35 H, 10BB, 65K.

    There was talk recently of the Baldelli effect, keeping the Twins loose and rested. I think Buxton is the poster child for this - he looks so relaxed and appears to be having lots of fun out there, and the team is reaping the benefits. 40-18??!!

    Chicago doesn't belong in the same category as KC and Detroit - they are 2 games out of a wild-card spot at the moment.

    I was watching the Red Sox on NESN via MLB app earlier this week, and the subject of the Twins popped up. After general agreement that the Twins look good, Eckersley and Remy got into a discussion of "when do you really know what kind of team you really have?" In their opinion, mid-May was too early. Their thought was that by mid-June, you have probably got good idea of what you have. Makes sense to me. Seattle and Boston have re-aligned in the last couple weeks to come closer to where they belong. The Twins have only gotten better as the season has progressed, and have banked wins against the best in the AL, so hopefully the wheels won't fall off in another month.

    Trading for a reliever would be fine as long as it isn't a Ramos for Capps redux.

    Classic small sample size, but through 4 games Nick Gordon is doing quite well: .421 BA, 1.108 OPS, 4 2B, 3SB. It would be nice to see him reposition himself as a top prospect.

    Interesting facts of the day: Baltimore has used 23 pitchers already this season, plus Chris Davis. Their team ERA is 6.37. The Twins staff is bedrock in comparison.
