    Yes but it was 107 off the bat. It wasn’t easy but you can’t absolutely whiff on it.

    Defense matters. Tough chance for Luke but you have to knock it down at least to save a run.

    Brooks has been switch hitting since he was a kid. In other words he likely hasn’t hit left handed against a lefty in his life. Your idea essentially would turn him into a platoon player. Makes zero sense.

    I have no heartburn at all at sending Martin down. He’s regressed back to a hitter that just doesn’t offer much. He’s gotten better in the outfield but he isn’t special out there. He makes good catches coming in on balls but when he gets to the fence he looks like an infielder. Plus he’s not a “heads up” ball player. He has some speed but doesn’t run the bases that well. And for some reason he throws to the wrong base far too often.

    Ahhh….the mythical log jam. Like Sasquatch and Bigfoot frequently discussed but never seen. Roden should come up immediately and Martin goes to St Paul. Fedko gets a look against lefties. Wallner comes back to DH when they have a Bell resolution. I would confiscate all of Wallners gloves as he should never step foot in the outfield again. Jenkins needs to get back and put up some good numbers in AAA before I worry about him. He may not see the show until next year. And of course there is likely an injury in the next month which will make all of this a moot point.

    They have to trade him. They cannot let a valuable asset walk and get nothing in return. Our farm system needs a shot in the arm and this is a great way to get that process started.

    Brooks is heading in the right direction with the bat but has to keep on going. Right now he’s pretty much league average. I think he will become an above average fielder at third. He has the hands and enough arm.

    I’m not eager to see him go either because the return wouldn’t be that much. At some point the chance he could figure it out is more valuable than an ordinary prospect. I think it would be fascinating to see how other FO evaluate him. Is he still Royce the 1/1 draft pick with potential or is he the more recent version. At some point potential becomes a dirty word.

    Realistically what would you be getting in return for Royce? Seems like a sell low situation. I will say he’s looking pretty good at first. He’s cooled off at the plate again - he just doesn’t have great pitch recognition.

    I think his throwing shoulder is bothering him. Last night he let Martin take a ball to make a throw when he was actually in a little better position to make the throw. Ironically Martin threw to the wrong base (again).

    Zebby got the job done but I think he got a little lucky. He threw 6-8 center cut meatballs and mostly got away with it. It’s the same struggle he’s always had of commanding pitches in the zone.

    Yep. Martin is not a smart baseball player. Makes a lot of mental mistakes and is currently blowing a golden opportunity to establish himself as a big leaguer.

    Good game. I actually think Zebby got a little lucky. He threw a bunch of center cut meatballs that didn’t get punished. Bats were quiet but our offense is always streaky.

    Keaschall is always out of balance when he swings. Royce kind of does the same thing. Unfortunately I’ve never seen a good hitter swing like that

    Excited for the game. Boy I hope Provus is back on the TV side preferably with Molly.

    Probably the biggest obstacle is that in past years Joe has faded a little in the second half. “Deep into games” is obviously relative because he is right around six innings per start. I’m not going to get into the ace discussion until someone actually defines it but I do think Joe is a fine pitcher but not in the top handful.

    Yep they seemed to have elbows figured out whereas the shoulder stuff seems like a crapshoot.
